Is there anyone with experience with a spastic pwr mirror?
Seems when 1st start Bonne, put it in reverse, mirror begins to move out of position. Then when put into drive it returns to set position.
Now What???
Have just about rebuilt parts of Bonne in past Month & 1/2.

That is normal when you have it selected. On your DIC, go to personalized settings and turn it off if you don't want it doing that.

The awkward moment when your problem is actually a feature...

To add a little detail. The mirror is repositioning itself to be more appropriate for being in reverse. Probably looking down toward the pavement so you can see things near the back of the car rather than waaaaay off in the distance.

My car doesn't have one but I've seen this feature elsewhere and normally the mirror just points downward and lifts back up when you go to to drive. If that's what it is doing then it's fine. If it's aligning off in some other direction then maybe you have a mechanical issue but that's not likely. Apparently you can turn this off if it bothers you but it sounds like it's perfect and can probably help prevent you from running over poorly positioned kittens (or toys etc.)

Mine tilts down when put in reverse and it is the coolest little feature. I don't rub the sidewalls on the curb anymore while parallel parking.

So now when in my wifes car I find myself lifting up to look thru the passenger mirror to see the ground..

Well y'all,
I have never noticed this happening in the 9 yrs. I've driven my Bonne.
Maybe it was turned offf all that time, and during my recent disection of the car, car, I have reset the feature. Thus making me think something was malfunctioning.
I'm currently very sensitive to anything going on with my Bonne.
Tanx Again to the Club!!! :bhuh:

I think its the motor in the mirror malfunctioning on the return

I think it's the sensor pin not working like it's supposed to.

one of two basic things. Either it needs lubrication, or repair. If something is sticking enough it could convince a sensor it's done and not proceed to fully reposition itself. Just as likely a broken part. The dilemma here is if there is an ability to disable it, that would be the cheapest easiest fix. If you're equipped to take it apart and re-assemble it, my first goal would be lube everything up good unless something is obviously broken.

DIC has the option to disable.

I really like this feature on these cars. I had a 2000 Jetta a few years ago that also did this, but it allowed you to program the "reverse" position.

I think these cars just have a default X degrees down, sort of programming, is that right? Sometimes I think it's programmed to go too low; good for watching tire & curbs, bad for looking behind your bumper.
