Shined up the SEEi

Spent most of the morning giving the Bonneville some TLC. Bought the car back in January, it had 105k at the time. Wasn't crazy about the color (still not), but it was a one owner car that was taken care of. Has 135k now with no major issues, but headliner needs replaced. I plan to pick up a cheap daily driver and have this around as a project car at some point in the future.

This site is a great resource and has helped me immensely with the repair and maintenance of the car.

I don't see anything wrong with the car other than the fact I don't own it - ha - ha. Really nice looking car. If you're to unhappy with the car, I don't think you'll have any trouble getting someone on here to take it off your hands. - BC

Thanks everyone for the comments. I have warmed up a bit to the color, but I still need to something to make it less "stock." Window tint is going on this week, and I'm going to add some black racing stipes myself this coming week or next. Still need something to make the exhaust note a little beefier, but there's only so much you can do to this V6 I've heard.

My goal is to keep it as clean as possible, maintaining a somewhat stock look, while still keeping up with performance cars for stoplight drags and such (i.e 4.6l mustangs, 5.0l camaro's, the list goes on).

a 3" down pipe and High Flow cat will help deepen the exhaust and it will also help your motor boost a lil happier..

some would argue this next statement

but i personally love the sound of flowmaster 44's on a 3800 :poke:

Is that a drop in muffler replacement? I plan to do the 3" DP / high flow cat, the headers are tad more expensive than what I want to spend.... But I'm not sure even that will give me the sound I want, so I'm looking toward replacement mufflers.

Some say you cannot make the 3800 sound good, but I disagree. Stock, this car sounds like a Ford Escort; nothing coming out of it sound-wise and it bothers me to no end.

Black racing stripes are going to look baddd, especially if you do it with spray cans...

alot of folks around here have been pretty happy with a magnaflow muffler but maybe its just me..magnaflow doesnt seem to be nearly as crafted compared to the designs of flowmaster...then again ive always liked that flowmaster sound..even if it isnt on a v8

i tell ya what though..magnaflow knows how to make *dang* good CATS :beerchug:

Wake has a point, he HAS heard mine... I have a 3" ZZP Downpipe with magnaflow high flow cat and after the stock resonator I have Super 44's. the shop that put them on had a little tricky of a time because of the compund angle the cowbell exhaust tips are at, but theyre pro race car builders so needless to say they figured it out. I'll post a dedicated exhaust vid after I sleep some but here is one after the DP you can kind of hear it before boost takes over
Speaking of which... FWI is a good investment :poke:

Videos don't really do it much justice at all, it sounds very good in person, my friend who has an 07 goldfish (GP) wants to know how to make his sound less like, how Lucas refers to it as, " a p/o'd hornet trying to get out of an empty pepsi can" :btruestory:
EDIT; I thought I would mention as well, that because the res is still in its factory location, if I have the windows up and I'm on the highway cruising, I can barely hear or feel for that matter the car running. it seems like the DP has made it smoother, and it hasn't even been tuned yet...
EDIT 2: Here is a video of my exhaust, its a bit different in person of course, but its not too bad for a phone video camera :btruestory: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yAJVsh0RSw

Put two Flowmaster Super 44's on the car today. Shop nearby charged me $40. Stock tips are nice and straight, no leaks, but I think I could make cleaner welds with my eyes closed.

It is surprisingly quiet. Has a lower pitch and a muffled growl to it. Just a touch of drone at idle that quickly goes away. All in all a good, unobtrusive sound that will probably get more aggressive with the 3" DP & hi-flow cat.

I asked them to try to find an exhaust rattle I've hard for some time. I thought it was something vibrating against a heat shield, but he tells me it's the insides of my cat falling apart. This news will certainly speed up the 3" DP/ hi-flow cat purchase.
