How long had your average MPG been at 16? The more miles you have on it the harder it is to make it go up or down, more-so up. If you have 500 miles since you reset it you could drive for 10 miles at 100 MPH and it might change by .2. However if you reset it it will fluctuate greatly until it gets a few miles on it. This sounds like much adieu about nothing.

Are you refering to the MAF screen on the inlet of the TB with the retinaing Clip (BIG C clip)?
I have heard yes and no. i removed it on both my cars... didnt seem to do much for MPG but it is supposed to give the MAF a clearner reading to calculate correctly. on a SC or a Turbo car it can become a restriction at a certian point... if your running stock boost it wont make a difference in power...
like the on in the inlet of the TB?

The MAF screen is a restriction on like .001% of 3800's, and all of those are at like 450WHP+. Yes, it and the clip should be in there.

If you just removed the screen the MAF will see a different flow of air and will give different results compared to with it in so you will need to retune the MAF table to correct the values for what it is not showing, or replace the screen.

I'm not running a MAF screen and the only difference I notice is................more power.
Well, that's probably an exaggeration but I don't notice any negative differences either.
Anything in the way of inlet or exhaust will restrict flow. All those .01's add up.

i didnt really notice a difference on either of my cars... my O2 gauge did show o2 reading to be a little more on the rich side under hard thorttle if that means anything... but other then that no difference. Idle, drivability and MPG didnt change. I plan on leaving it on the bonne.
