iirc, the stock mounts are good enough on your bville, its the 00+ that had the mount problems.

I need to replace my trans mount (will be # 3).
I have excessive motor travel on brake torque (again) and I'm really thinking about just making the mount solid that way I don't have to worry about them for a long time. I was thinking maybe just making the torque axis a solid mount.
What are the pros and cons of making them solid and how difficult would it be (if possible)?

If you go solid, it'll just transfer the load elsewhere. For the TA mount being solid, you'll either break your dogbone or split your diff housing.

Make the front trans mount solid, the rear will rip loose and it's a pita to change.

DON'T go solid. Firm it up some. If you did go solid and the problems above weren't an issue, you'd hate the vibration. Trust me. I tested a solid mount last year. Even at idle, the car shakes.

x2

I made a front trans mount that's similar to willwren's and have been running it without any problems for 8 months or so. Firming up that mount alone should be enough for most people. I'll be testing a poly TA mount that's a little firmer than stock as soon as I find the time. Hopefully that'll prove to be an option for those of us that are heavily modified and need something on top of the firmer trans mount.

There aren't any mounts made for our cars. Just have to get creative and make your own. Willwren had a good write-up about modifying the front trans mount on the old forum. I'm not sure if it's made it's on this one yet.
