Climate Control Module blank and no air blowing

Hi guys, first time poster. I just bought a 98 SSEi with a few minor problems. First of which is the climate control. The unit will not turn on when the car is started, looks like there's no power going to it. And when it did turn on the first couple of days I had the car there is no air blowing.

So looks like there's multiple issues. I don't think theres anything wrong with the module because it did turn on the first fews days I had the car.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for your help?

Check the fuse bank on passenger side (under the glovebox) This car has 3 fuse panels (1 driver, 1 passenger and 1 under the hood)
I had a similar problem - turned out to be the following:
- had a bottle of "liquid car freshner" in the glovebox that leaked - down over the fuses, blew a couple fuses - shutdown the blower control.
- should be able to get a wirng diagram via your local library

There are two separate fuses, one for the head unit, another for the compressor. Not sure yet (I'll know soon as I know my AC needs a looking at, not urgent yet, but soon) there may be another for the vent blowers. Sounds like it could be both or all those fuses. Certainly the best place to begin your search, real hard to get under there too, I'd bring a flashlight and a mirror to review the fuses. The schematic of that panel is in the manual. Let us know if you don't have one and someone will help you determine which fuse is which. The modules can dim out after time as the LED's get toasted (so much for "solid state" right?) but it sounds like yours went from on to completely off.

I checked mine to see what was wrong and the fuse from the compressor is missing. My hunch is that it was doing something horrible and it was winter so the previous owner authorized removing it to shut it up for sale. January was cold, nobody would know wether the AC worked anyway.

Hi guys thanks for the help. I'll be checking the fuses today. I don't have the manual so if you could provide me with the schematics that would be awesome thanks!

I haven't had time to scan the chart but I can tell you the matrix location of the 2 fuses for the HVAC are as follows:

5A: Automatic A/C Control, Base Cluster, Cruise Control
5D: Base A/C

When I got my car (dead of winter) the 5D fuse wasn't even in there so that explains why my compressor won't start but my guess is that the fuse was removed for a reason. Could be as simple as another fuse had blown for any reason and they pulled it because "won't need this for 6 months" or ????? (heaven knows)

Someone should confirm this for us: I think the 5a fuse is a simple 5amp or 10amp and the 5d would be more like a 20amp. If anyone knows the absolute correct values please advise.
