2003 SLE Overhead lights

The overhead lights in my 2003 don't come on when the door is opened. They do come on if you turn on the switch to use them as a reading light. Any ideas??

Any door or just the driver door?
Does the door show being open on the DIC (driver information center)?

They don't turn on when anny door is opened and they show when they are open on the DIC
