I'm just curious as to why everybody on this forum is afraid of Bosch products
can somebody provide my with a reason/explanation or an example as to why I should never use:

Bosch spark plugs

Bosch ignition wires

Bosch oxygen sensors

(on a 1994 bonneville SSEi)

They just don't work well with the ignition system on these cars. They don't last and they don't work well. It's just that simple.

It's a proven bad idea by hundreds of members since 2002 that have tried them.

Their O2 sensors last about 30-60 days in our cars.
Bosch spark plugs don't work well in waste-spark ignition systems like ours (known fact).
PLATINUM plugs of ANY type should NEVER be used on a supercharged engine regardless.

This has been proven in my family many times before I was enlightened to this on this forum many years ago.
I've seen a few 3800's in my family get the Bosch o2 (no codes) yanked to put a AC Delco in and instantly more mpgs -yes, I've even seen as much as 40% better mpgs.

There's nothing wrong with Bosch parts--when they're used in cars that are designed for them. I had several VW Beetles when I was in high school and college in the early '80s. I got great service out of Bosch plugs and belts. In fact, Bosch was the only company that made a fan belt the right shape to seat properly on the pulleys. The other belts I tried would all jump off. But that doesn't mean that Bosch products are the right ones for my Bonneville. Empirical evidence proves they are not.

Human, we're primarily talking about Bosch plugs and O2 sensors, and I don't recall anyone talking about their belts.

The plugs and O2 sensors have been proven time and again to be poor performers in our engines. If you are running either, I guarantee you that performance will improve if you remove them and replace them with brands and types that we know work well in our 3800's.

(let's try to stay on topic)

I can vouch on the fact that Bosch plugs suck. I put in the super duper, Bosch uradium plugs, about 10,000 miles ago. Not really sure on how many miles I have on them, I can check my records. I put 130+ miles a day on the poor girl. My mileage right now is the worst I have ever pulled on my Bonneville. On a good day with no wind, I pull no better than 22 mpg on a tank on the highway. Andrew told me to pull them when I put them in too. What a joke!!

I just drove my 09 Ford Flex on my commute this week due to a bad motor mount, and I have been pulling 23 mpg on the highway.

Did 29 Mpg on my trip home from WV..... NGK Plugs, Autolite Wires and the original AC Delco O2...lol

I did 23 Mpg in the van with a bad tune( a little rich ) doing 80 Mph with the AC on... NGK Plugs and a Denso O2...

When I had Bosch Plugs way way way back the plugs fouled out and had me down to 14 Mpg... AC Delco plugs cured that instantly...

My 91 had a Bosh O2... Was great for 2 months then all of the sudden 13 Mpg... AC Delco AFS-20 cured that... All of the sudden it was 20 in town...

Now with that said... A lot of our cars for many years used Bosch Injectors, Bosch Fuel Pressure Regulators among a few items... Those were all good...

Stay away from Bosch Plugs, Bosch Wires and Bosch O2's when it concerns a 3800 V6 and many of the GM FWD v6's as well due to the DIS system
