ughhhhh, BAD day...

Well, long story short...

Got out of work at 7 AM this morning and went to do some running. On the way back home, the '93 died.... yup DIED!!! I was at an intersection, gassed it through it and made it about 25 more yards and then the whine stopped. I pulled over and stopped the car, tried restarting it but no luck. Rolls over like a mofo, but no fire.

I thought fuel pump. Ripped up some wire from the trunk and tested with the test connection by the battery. Pump was running, had pressure ( not sure how much, no gauge ) but still no fire. Pull a plug boot off the coil and no spark.

I am thinking a bad crank sensor.

So, fast forward about two hours I finally get a ride to my dads house and am going to use his truck to get a trailer to get my car. The battery is dead in the truck and will not start for anything. My dad has owned this truck for almost 10 years and it has never failed to start, but that is my luck  Another hour goes by and his wife gets ahold of his dad and he takes me to get the trailer to get the car.

The car is now sitting in my driveway DOA. I am exhausted, and the outside of my house still looks like crap.

Dang... what a day....

Unplug the cam sensor and give it a crank, if it fires up, the cam sensor is dead. This is how I determined mine went bad.

Hang in there! My friend's crank sensor fell out, but he duct taped it back in. See? It could be worse! :)

hmmm, I thought they would still run with a bad cam sensor, but run like crap :???:

Either way, I will try that to make sure. I won't replace the crank sensor unless I am absolutely sure that it is the problem.

Every time I've heard one turning over like crazy I think timing chain. Hope that's not it.
