92-99 bonneville owners, i posted about the low air flow recently in several forums but curious. A friend of mine was having the low air flow problems and he told me he bout a expensive blower from the dealer and he said his now blow harder than ever, but i bought one from the part store (advance auto parts). could it be that the oem blowers blows harder?

I think what happened is the dealer removed the blower motor, found all kinds of garbage in there and removed it. They may or may not have replaced the motor. They also could have replaced the resistor/module that controls the motor, in that he didn't have 1 or 2 of the high settings available to him.
All motors should be the same rpms.

Yep. As far as I know, nobody makes a high performance/higher speed blower motor. They all spin the same RPM on high. I would guess you have a restriction in the HVAC system that is choking the air flow down.

the hvac system he talks of is in the firewall, where the blower motor is. stuff gets into it from the grate under the windshield.

the link I posted above will show you how to remove the blower motor resistor pack. from that opening you will be able to tell if you have debris in the intake portion. removing the blower motor will give you access also. after that it is into the dash, but that is last resort. if you only have 1 speed, I would get the resistor pack replaced first, check for debris while it is out, and test you air volume.

thanks but when i did do that i notice the fins in the hvac are rusted and corroded

oh, if the fins on the blower motor are bad the easiest way to get it fixed is a new motor. they come with the fin cage attached. the cage will most likely be plastic on the new one.
