Victor wasn't hurt and he missed the pole.
It's a write off but I have all the fresh receipts............about $6,000 worth but I know it's not worth more than $4,000.
We'll see how the insurance company deals with it.

It's in the impound now.
I'm not sure if I should get it out before I visit the insurance company on Tuesday... :sadeyz:

We had to say prayers and talk him out of committing suicide. Ya he feels pretty bad about it.

Hit the gas instead of the brake while going around a steep uphill wet corner. No charges laid.

Frikken right I'm depressed now too.........."crying".

He didn't have it yet.
It's still mine.
He was on his way to visit a friend and only had it for 5 minutes.

It went up the side of the bank, stopped and then slowly rolled over.

Most of the damage occured when the tow truck pulled it along the bank to upright it.
Report said $2,000 damage but we all know better...........if it wasn't in such great condition, after I piled a couple months labour and over $5,000 into it, it would only be worth $1,000.
*dang*......*dang*......*dang*!!!!!!!

Just thankful he wasn't hurt.

.....but he is hurting emotionally because he knows how much work I put into it also. :sadeyz:

School of hard knocks strikes again.

Yes we had a heart to heart. I don't think suicide is on his mind anymore thank God.

Now what do you guys recommend we do about the insurance?
Should I get it out of impound first?
Do I need to file the insurance claim first?

I know it's still driveable but don't think the driver's side doors will open.

On second thought, it's probably not worth it but I was thinking of switching the new tires out for the old original ones at least and that new exhaust...and fuel filter...and....... #-o :sadeyz:

Tries worth it, maybe exhaust.

Was it hard work and sweat put into it? Yeah, for sure! But it's a vehicle, and he's alright physically.

Hell, turn the situation around with him, buy it back and turn it into a 4 wheel trail machine with him! Find a decent lift kit, fix the body with him, gut it, put some trail gear on it, and go nuts..

Oh ya! It was no joke.

He has not been having very good luck this last year and this kind of was the last straw.

He's only 20 and still has a lot of living to do yet.......

We all make mistakes and shouldn't beat up on ourselves.

An unforgetable Christmas this year. :sadeyz:

How does that work?
Will the insurance give me back what I put into it in value?
Will I be able to buy it back?

I won't be happy getting less than $4,000 for the $5,700 worth of receipts I have. Will they even give me that much for it?? :dontknow:

He def needs some sort of project to keep him on track, something to live for, so to speak.

Oh he has a big project to work on.
It's called College.
He gets on the bus the day after tomorrow to head back to school. He has to move at the end of this month....New Years Eve....and then he starts at a new school.
I'll need all I can get from the insurance to help pay for his rent and food for the next four months.
He doesn't have much choice because there's no work anywhere and if he does well this term he will regain his lost scholarship.

Lots of pressure for him to do well.

Wish him the best. We know he CAN do it. He's a very smart guy when he puts his mind to something. He's a Victor!

Paul buddy.

I am sorry to hear and see that.

Also in his defense its been raining like a bastard down there.
(left Nanaimo this morning , just got home)
And if he hasn't been driving in awhile its easy to make mistakes for the first little while.
(especially when its not your vehicle)

(sorry i don't know the exact situation with Victor)
The important thing is that he is okay.

Geez, even rolled over the Jeep still looks mint... I hope you can buy it back from the insurance company. I've heard people paying as little as 200 bucks to get their cars back, fix it for little money then pocket the rest.

Or even use it for parts for the other Jeep.

Geez, and I though my Christmas spent replacing the heater core in the Bonnie sucked (yeah, it popped Christmas Day.)

Anywho, my suggestions:

1.) Get the thing out of impound and back to your garage.
2.) Keep the vehicle. Based on the pics, it's not a total loss. Since it is your insurance, you might decline any claim at all if they want to write it off. Or, you could buy it back with the salvage title when they write it off.

Last: Put the kid to work fixing the Jeep. "Ya break it, Ya fix it". Can't see the side where the bulk of the damage is, but this is a minor "oops". Might take his mind off his sorrows.
