all done, back at the hotel drinkin to victory!

im uploading one of the videos now,
the first few pulls were disappointing, but it turned out, that the gas i had in the car was complete garbage, robbing me of almost 20hp. anywho..

didnt get as much power as i wanted, but i found out through todd and bob, that my exhaust is restrictive right at where the Y pipe would be, the guy who did the exhaust for me, made it a T, why im not sure, i guess it was easier, anyway, to solve this issue, ill be cutting into the T and making a manual cutout with a 2.5in pipe, and a butterfly valve, should be an inexpensive, and sound making improvement for when i want to race.

also, i have a bad leak at the EGR valve, im not sure what that will do as far as robbing hp, but im sure itll have something to do with it.

other than that.

what was accomplished today,

the 1.8 rockers, 105# valve springs, push-rods, locks, and retainers, were installed

shortly after my little stint on a back road while going to pick up the fiance,

i drove over to brians for the tune.

got the car strapped on,
ba boom, engine starts,
dyno lock disengaged,
engine revs, good pull, car sounds great!

217whp...288tq.. :ack:
@%#$!!!

somethins wrong, ok 3.3 pulley, no good, change out for my 3.4
the car isnt liking this much boost, 12.4lbs o.0

little tweaking on brians end, another pull, boom

225whp 266tq, little tweak, and again, 224whp 278tq

ok, were gettin somewhere, but he cant advance timing past 11.5 cuz theres to much KR!
what to do! options! drive the wheels off the car till im out of gas, then fill it up with good gas, cuz the stuff i had was crap.
option two, leave it, cars not fully tuned..

OPTION ONE TAKEN
drove around for about 3 hours, ran through a half tank of gas..
refilled er at BP, with a little injector cleaner, and off to brians again.

we get there, he jumps in, does his magic, and we go off on a backroad, i hit it, and bam
car runs almost perfect, with just a blip of KR on the whole powerband.

ba boom, all done.
with timing advance,
and if the math is right,

Official numbers,
:beerchug:
239whp
293 crank
303tq
:beerchug:
thanks bob, todd, and brian :hail:

you guys helped out alot, and i learned alot as well,
=D> =D> =D>
next on the list to make the bonneville go vroom vroom,
xp1 cam? possible, heads? later on.

E85? lookin better and better every day, very good possibility for the NEAR future  >:)

Did you notice any difference with just the rocker install? (on your way to the tune).

yea, but i was having that boosy issue, the bypass valve wasnt closing all the way, so i wasnt getting full boost till we ripped it apart and fixed the issue, so it freed up about 7lbs of boost on top of the install, haha

So, no "seat of the pants" dyno on just the rockers due to the boost being corrected at the same time as rocker install?

not a ridiculous gain, but noticeable for sure, little bit of a difference in sound as well.

Should've done 1.95 rockers. That would've gotten you over the 300 CHP mark.

not a big deal, once i fix the leaky valve, and free up the exhaust, ill be right there. and come may, ill be at 300whp

IDK? I think the 1.8's are already pushing the limits. You have to keep in mind the added strain on the rest of the valvetrain.

90% of the S2 S/C guys that have stock cam/aftermarket rockers have 1.95's from what I can tell.

very true, but im looking to do something different in time, not revealing anything yet, but it involves some pricey toys.
anyway, 1.9 and 1.8 is only a difference of 8-11hp so im not to worried, its not a huge difference.

on Monday,
im goin back to the muffler shop i just got back from,
and there gonna do a cutout for me,
with a solid block off plate so it wont leak when closed,
and all i gotta do to take it off at the track, is 2 15mm wrenches,
good to go for the 7-10hp fix from what im missing because of the restriction.

more on that on Monday. :beerchug:

And 60% of those blow up.
