Ok so im new to this club here and am trying to find my way. I have a 93 bonnie ssei and am wanting a little more performance from it. Im not sure how to go about it? open to any suggestions and any help you guys can give me.

After you make sure your spark is good (check the coils and have good plugs), have good fuel (pressure test is easy to do), and aren't getting much if any knock retard in stock form, good first steps are a CAI and a smaller 2.25"-2.3" SC pulley. Search "ricepipe" for a DIY CAI, or the Intense Racing tubing to make a FWI.

You can get a high flow cat from Magnaflow.

You can get a cam from Crow. Search crow and my name to find a link and description.

You can get Yella Terra 1.8 full roller rockers from Intense (maybe ZZP) or Yella Terra themselves.

If you've got tuning capabilities or know someone that can, you can do a Gen 3 M62 conversion from a 94/95. The rotors are improved with a coating and the throttle body/SC inlet are enlarged. You'd want the 94/95 MAF and to raise your fuel pressure to Series II L67 levels, then tune. My best results came with the pressure at 50 psi and tweaking the MAF signal with a MAF translater from ZZP. But a custom tune would be better.

Well lucky me i need a cat anyways...lol thanks for the tips. Now would it be better to try to mod the supercharger the car came with or just go for it and get a ll gen? I also would like to know how to check the coils to see if they are good?

If you don't want to tune the PCM/fuel for the newer supercharger, you can polish the supercharger inlet and outlet. The rough casting surface is a bit of a restriction. IMO, there's a decent kick in the pants feel to getting the newer SC done right. You get more boost and/or lower temps at the same SC speeds with the newer one, and the added benefit of the larger throttle body.

So now if I tune the PCM is this like a Diablo Predator? I can plug it in and tune myself? I would also like to order a smaller s/c pulley for the car. Now what point is too much boost for the engine? Whats a safe pulley size? I keep hearing about these Rockers? Is this just something that is going to help with the movement and lube of the engine?

The car has roughly 45,000 miles on it and a jaspers trans.

For us, a tune means the chip has to come out and get "reburned". Which means you get the hardware to do it, or send it to someone like Sinister Performance with some good scan data.

2.3-2.25" is about as small as you'd want to go for the pulley.

The rockers will have decreased friction for less wear and parasitic loss, as well as opening the valves further compared to the stock 1.6 (I think) ratio.

What John said on the rockers. I'm ordering a set because it's a fairly quick and easy way to get what looks like 15 to 20hp across the entire rev range - but this is an estimate and I haven't seen solid dyno numbers anywhere. Still definitely a solid seat of the pants improvement and even some potential for improved fuel economy, provided you keep your foot out of it. Key selling points for me are the reduced friction and better top-end power, something the S1 L67 definitely lacks.

They're not the cheapest mod, but the way I see it, if I no longer want to use them I can pull them off and recoup most of my investment on resale.

So now iv looked at these rockers a little bit. I see that it says to reuse the stock pushrods. Is this correct or should i buy new pushrods also? I always thought of valve train as something you dont play around with. Again this engine has roughly 45k miles on it.
