Front lip mod

My friend is really into Hyundai Tiburons, and he was over today so we could do this mod to his car, and he suggested that I try it on mine.

It's only about $20 in materials. The lip is actually garage door bottom from Home Depot...

I think it came out beautifully, but what do you guys think?

(Oh and yeah, I know it needs to be washed.)

This is the original Tiburon thread\version.

not bad at all, hope it stays on. Did you zip tie it as well?

That's an old "Grassroots Racing" trick....it's a poor-mans front spoiler, easily repairable or replaceable, and nobody really cares if it gets damaged.

I actually like that! Wish I had seen that when I had my Bonneville...

Wow, the sound of it (zip ties and Home Depot parts) makes it seem like a hack job but that actually looks really nice...and no worse than if the factory had placed it on there themselves!

It will probably be fine around town, but highway speeds will probably deform it some. My brother did this same thing to the sides of the '83 Ranger and it looked pretty good. A screw on both ends and double sided tape for the rest. It eventually came off from under the cab, but on the bed of the truck it's still hanging in there.

For a simple appearance mod, I think it looks pretty slick! I picked some of this up for both Bonnevilles but haven't done anything about it yet, haha.

I am going to try this on my SSEI.
I wonder how the skirts would look done like that.

That does look surprisingly good. Looks like it offers some protection against scraping the bottom of the bumper, too. You might grind up the foam, but a few bucks and half an hour, and your car's back lookin nice again!
