Passernger side power window not working

2001 SSEi, The front passenger window will not operate when using the switch on that door, or the drivers door. When I use either switch, I do hear a faint "click" when I operate either switch. Any ideas?
The window has been working perfectly, so I find it hard to believe that it's the motor. They usually get slower and slower until they just stop working.
WIth the clicking sound though, I assume that current is making it to something inside the door.
Any help would be appreciated. I have had problems in the past with other windows and door locks and have adressed all of the wiring issues like repairing the tan/white wire splices and all. I also replaced the drivers side switch several months ago when it got wet and apparently damaged the printed circuit board.

Try this. Open the door, depress the windows switch for the window to go down. Then, slam the door closed, hard. If it doesn't work by the 3rd try, we'll try something else.

Try pulling back the wire boot that is between the door hinge, and check for any broken wires. The same thing happened with my wifes Jeep a couple weeks ago, the constant opening and closing finally wore the wires out. I spliced them back together and was good to go!!!

Thanks guys. The next day the window worked fine. My son reminded me that this is not the first time this has happened. It has happened twice before but both times either my wife or my son were driving. My son told me that both of the other times, it was the same thing. Neither switch made the window move, but there was a slight clicking sound when you pressed the switch.
All three times, the window worked fine the next day.
Any ideas?
I replaced both back window operator assemblies over a year ago, so I have a couple of good motors, but I hate to tear into the door to replace the motor if that's not the problem.
Thanks for your responses. The next time it happens I'll try slamming the door a couple of times.

That's pretty typical. Slamming the door will take care of the problem about 95% of the time. Apparently, something gets bound up mechanically. Slamming the door seems to free things up. We have yet to have anyone report one of the motors failing.
If you're interested in fiddling with the rear regualators that you pulled out, you may want to read this.

Well then, allow me to be the first. I did have the front passenger motor quit on me. Fortunately, I had saved the motor from a regulator I had already replaced. 3 motor mount screws and a plug later, the window was back in operation and has worked since. And it didn't get weak before dying as some motors do, it just quit.

Being an electrical/mechanical device, there's no doubt that there will be failures of the motor. However, in the list of the causes of window problems, it would be well toward the bottom, especially with his symptoms.

Totally agree. I just wanted to throw a monkey wrench in the probability curve.

I was just glad I had saved one of the three regulator motors that had the top cable plastic retainer breakage. Whatever formula GM was using for plastics back then, it doesn't hold up very well.

Had the problem with mine several times. Didn't slam the door, but closing it normally seemed to solve the problem. Archon, is this an indication the regulator will need replaced in the future?

Not from any indication that I have seen so far. I removed the motor on mine before realizing that I could do basically the same thing by slamming the door. It first happened about 5 years ago, and my friend's 00 SSEi about the same time. Neither have had a problem with the regulators in those doors.

Simply amazing...I just tried this on my drivers side front windows and, bust my buttons, it actually worked. That window hadn't worked in over a year but I thought the door slamming thing was just to crazy to be true. It IS true and I now have a working window again. Does it work for all the windows because my passenger rear window is not working either??

As long as it's not due to a broken cable, it works just as well on any door.
