Wipers out of control - remote starter conflict?

Ok, this is what happened. I purchased a remote starter from that "honest, reliable, dependable" electronics giant. This was right after Christmas. On the way driving home immediately after the install, my wipers suddenly came on. The following day, the same thing, they engaged without my assistance. I returned to this electronics giant, which also sells PC's, (not with my buddie "Richard"). The young polite installer stayed late to check all of his wiring. He told me everything was fine and that he "reset" the wiper module.
The following day, the wipers went on again. Once again, I returned to the installer, he check the wiring, fixed it. This time, after I picked up the car, I noticed the radio display was half darkened. The wipers once again, self engaged.
On my next visit, the installer remover the remote starter, reset the wipers, agreeded to replace the radio. I had the retailer put in writing, that they would be responsible for any future wiring issues, and would replace the radio. They stated the car was back to factory standard, and the wipers were fine.
That very next day, as my 21 year old daughter drove the bonne back to Geneseo, NY it began to rain. She turned on the wipers, and guess what, they did not operate!
I drove 200 miles to meet her in Binghamton NY for a car switch. I drove home without wipers, not much rain.
The wipers motor was bad. I replaced the radio, and the retailer will not make good.
If your wipers become posessed, it may be the wiper motor. Was it the remote starter????
