Alright, well I have a 2000 Bonneville SSEi, I have OnStar, but I don't know if I have the bose system, i don't think I do though, but anyhow, I'm trying to install a head unit, and I get power to the unit, but no sound, I hooked all the wires to the proper harness I got from my local sound shop. Please help... I'm getting frustrated.

Tell us what kind of aftermarket head unit you're trying to install.

The harness interface you bought says "Non On-Star" and you said you have On-Star. Maybe you just have the wrong harness interface?

Also says non-amplified and you are.

Maybe more like this one:

SonicElectronix has pretty good tech support. Email them and ask them if the harness adapter module you got is compatible with your car and its features.

My understanding from buying other harness adapters like this is that there's a model that works with your car, and the other models don't. It's not a thing where you pick and choose which features you'd like to keep from which ones you don't care about losing, and then buy an adapter that doesn't have the features you don't care about. The radios with and without those features have different pinouts on the connectors, so if you buy the wrong adapter, it generally won't work with your car.

What, just because you didn't buy the right harness adapter interface?

For future reference, you could take advantage of the vast collective body of knowledge in this club and ask what adapter to get, before buying the wrong one. When it comes to radio replacement in a Bonneville, someone probably did it before you, and knows what pitfalls to watch out for.

Bring it back to your shop and demand a refund.

I've already cut and stripped the wires, I don't think they'll take it back

If they sold it to you as working with your car, I think they kind of have to take it back. If the mistake was on them, and through no fault of your own you got the wrong part, then I think they have to take it back.

As long as you buy the correct one from them, I don't think they will turn you down.

Oh and hey, "Welcome." -now you know where to ask first. For audio stuff you can research what other people have installed and ask opinions on stuff you plan on installing, and you're sure to get some good advice.

Typically you need to get an adapter from Pacific Accessory Corporation, one of their OEM adapters.
http://pac-audio.com/

[Edit: Wait, someone already posted a link to the Axxess GMOS-04. Isn't that what you need?]

Crutchfield or SonicElectronix typically carries them.
