I never knew the seat belt was supposed to stay closed like that. I've never seen it used the way that guy did.

I don't think very many people did. Interestingly enough, 87-91 Bonnevilles sold in Canada had conventional style belts.

I remember reading about it in my users manual in my '88. I tried it a few times but quickly found out it was very uncomfortable. Its funny because it said it was "automatic" seatbelts.



And on the acceleration issue...my '88 would stick from time to time. My mother claimed that is what happened when she hit a pole in a parking ramp, and I can testify that it happened from time to time as well. Kinda interesting i suppose.

with the old LG3 87-early 88 Bonnevilles the TPS and or the MAF( these were tempermental ) Could cause the car to idle up for no reason.. as well the ECM used in the cars back then was quite stupid.. So they were iffy at best and quirky..

The 3800 was an improvement the ECM was smarter, the MAF design was better... But a Pissed off TPS could cause it to idle up...

If the idle speed motor on my Jeeps TB gums up, it causes the idle speed to rev to 2000 rpm.
I have learned over the years to keep it clean and it hasnèt done it again.

My 00 SE had problems with that when my MAF was fouled. The RPMS would spike to 2300 occasionally when trying to slow down.
