Updated 5-25-10

The meet this year will be skipping the usual meet at a park downstate as we will be having a track day at Mid Michigan Motorplex as they have a test and tune event on Sunday the 6th from 10 AM - 4 PM and we will need the time to get everyone ready for the track.

The meet will be held at my house this year.

For those that have not been to my house yet ( and those that have but don't remember ), Here is a Google map for you to check out for directions to my house
---> My House
1249 N. Nine mile rd.
Sanford Mi. 48657

We have a lot of room in our house, and TONS of floor space if you don't mind the floor to sleep on. Also I have a HUGE yard to camp in if anyone would prefer to rough it  If you own place is more your style, there is about a dozen hotels within 15 minutes from my house, many of them pretty much a straight shot from my house. If you would rather go that way, let me know and I will get some prices :beerchug:

Wireless internet is available for anyone who wants to bring a laptop, last year I think we had about seven laptops on at the same time with no issues.

Here are the plans so far:
Friday - Any early arrivals, maybe go out to eat.
Saturday - More arrivals, general BSing, working on and cleaning / detailing cars if we have time. After everyone arrives we will either go out to eat or grill at my house.
Saturday evening Possible country cruise if we have time after dinner, beers and stories by the bonfire, sleep.
Sunday - wake up somewhat early, many with mild hangovers , do any last minute work to ready the cars for the track day, then head out to the track for the test and tune at 10 AM. Last year cost was $20 to race and $10 to watch. I expect this year to be the same, but I will confirm that in the next couple days. Also, IF you are UNDER 18 yrs. old and want to race, you MUST have a signed letter of approval from your parents! Also, if under 18, contact the track to see if they have a specific consent form that they need to send to you to have filled out to race. After racing, we will head back to my house to say goodbye to those leaving Sunday night.
Monday - ? - Anyone who wishes will be welcome to stay the duration of the week. There are no plans yet, but you can be sure that if you stay you will not be bored. There is an indoor go-cart track about 45 minutes away that go up to 40 mph that I have been wanting to check out so we could add that as a possibility as well as more car work, general relaxing and BSing, movies, games, etc...
There is a local car show on Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th for anyone that will still be here. Friday evening is the cruise and burnout competition, then Saturday is the car / bike show, and they usually have a mobile chassis dyno as well

Let's make this the best one yet!

I've been waiting for this topic to emerge!

I'm going to be very flexible this semester, so I look forward to the drive up! I'd love to bring both cars up!

I did like the park idea, but our location last year wasn't the greatest thing ever. Were you saying the meet was at that same park two years ago but a different location? Or was this somewhere else completely?

mmmm Michigan Meet
MIBF?

This is a possibility as I'll be in Buffalo about that time. Plus seeing the Booze brothers and the changes sandrock did to Chloe at SEBF would be sweet.

We have been close to breaking the 20 car mark, but I think we can do it for sure this year :beerchug:

For anyone that isn't sure about the track yet, go anyways, even just to watch! It is a blast and there are some crazy vehicles that show up. My last outing in October there was an 8 second Grand National all the way up to a 17.xx second Mazda Protege. Not to mention a couple sand rails, bikes, a quad, and a snowmobile :)

Last year it was $10 to watch and $20 to race. I would expect this year to be similar.

This year, thanks to Penn State's wonderful course scheduling ( ), I'm going to have to stay for summer school, but luckily it only goes until June 25th, so as long as it's after the 25th(I think it was in July last year), I think it goes without saying that I'll be there!

I think it would be awesome to make it up there.
The car needs some work though haha
It seems like that might be a bit of a trip up there too..
I guess we'll just see when the dates are set.

I'm definitely up for the meet again this year. I may actually be able to do it for more than one day if I can get the time off. And my friend will be the new owner of my 97 by then and maybe I can get him to come too.

I didn't do too much to it. I was very conservative with it,since it was already an INTENSE tune to begin with.

Still, even the best canned tune can be refined. Intense is very good at canning tunes. There's nothing like custom, though.

More reason to go, so there can be another picture with the Booze brothers gleaming white car and my rusty silver couch in it.

I wouldn't mind July either. I'm doing four courses this summer, but one is a fastrack half-termer and will be done by the end of June.

Based on the people showing interest, I am getting more and more stoked by the day.
