So I just got in from pulling the codes on my 92. I came up with four codes

1) 23- Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit ( Low Temperature Indicated )
2) 41- Cam Sensor Circuit
3) 58- Personal Automotive Security System ( PASS Key ) Fuel Enable Circuit
4) 66- Low A/C Refrigerant Charge]

So I was wondering what #58 meant and how get rid of that code? #23 and #41 are just bad sensors right? Thanks in advance

23 is probably a disconnected IAT sensor in your airbox (back half of the box).

58 is a known bug in the 92 PCM. Ignore it.

Thanks for the fast reply. I'll go back out and check the IAT sensor before I take off to work and can go on my lunch break to pick up a new one if needed.

IAT's rarely go bad. Disconnected or broken wires are 99%.

The 41 could be a bad sensor, bad wiring, or a missing/failed cam gear magnet. Before you buy a new sensor, take the old one out, get a view point (either with a small mirror or remove the front passenger wheel and fender liner) and turn the engine over by hand for two rev or until the magnet on the cam gear comes into view through the cam sensor hole. If the magnet is still there, look into a new sensor or check the wiring. If not, you'll need a new magnet. Somewhere around here, Padgett has a procedure to JBWeld one into place through the hole without removing the front cover. Otherwise, the front cover and cam gear have to come off. Might not be a bad time for a new timing set while you are in there.

What about the a/c code? Any tips on that?

Can you borrow an AC pressure tester from a parts store?

honestly the likely hood of your code 41 equaling a bad sensor or magnet is slim cause i am assuming the car runs, and usually when these sensors go bad or the magnet is missing your car will run like a bag of dog poop or not run at all.

SI's run "ok" with a a bad cam sensor/magnet. You can tell it's not perfect, but it'll get up to speed and drive on the highway fine. The sensor is just for injector timing. Without the cam signal, it defaults to some base injector timing.

Yeah the car still runs great. It doesn't seem to have any loss of power. But I will check for the magnet and see if that's the case first. If it is the problem, how would I get just the magnet, is there a part number for it? I'll look into the JB Weld idea first but just incase, it'd be nice to know where I can purchase that part.

I got one from Autozone. It's frequently called a cam sensor interrupter at a lot of parts stores, in case they can't find a "cam magnet". You might be able to order it from Rockauto, I think. Don't recall the number off hand.

I think that's what they called it on the Advance website when I was looking at their sensors.

yes i its called a cam shaft interruptor. and its only bout 3-5 dollars unless that went up in the past 7 years since i did it in my 92.

i recommend the JB weld technique over removing the whole front cover. it is much more permanent for one... meaning no decay of the plastic shell causing the magnet to fly. plus removing the water pump draining coolant removing the front cover all this can be a pain and obviously cost more in gaskets.

I just replaced the water pump not to long ago, and that was a PITA!! But I looked through the hole and turned the engine over by hand and the magnet still appears to be in good shape and in postion. So maybe just a bad sensor after all? The wiring looked good from what I could see of it.

the cam sensor is only bout 12 bucks so not to bad hopefully it fixes it
