Power Wire Through Firewall

Does anybody know the easiest way I could run a new power wire from my battery to my alternator? My biggest obstacle is obviously going to be getting it through the firewall. The reason for this is that my alternator is going out and I'm going to be buying a high output alternator that calls for 1/0 gauge wires.

Why the big alt? Do you need it? I would say the only correct way to do it is to remove enough of the interior and re-wire it in the same location as the old. Make sure to use a grommet through the firewall.

The stock location is on the far passenger side. Its a pretty heavy gauge wire, but not 1/0.
These pics may be of some help
