i saw in the common problems section that the air mix door motors like to go out. sweet. well is there two motors or just one. i have driver heat and it stays hot. the drivers side climate will also change par the controls. unfortunatly this is not good enough. i was hoping to get a little more detail about the air mix doors and if they are able to get stuck?... i hope..... also how would i access this problem.

For the automatic controls, there are two actuators. One on the driver's side, the other for the passenger. There are several posts regarding it, including those showing locations of each.

If the air temperature is changing, but just doesn't get cold enough, start by checking the charge on the A/C system. When it gets low, that is one of the symptoms. It doesn't have to be low by much, either.

IIRC The display on the climate control should be blinking if one of the airmix actuator doors are not working. There should be four of them in the car, two on each side.

But I'm not clear as to what you're saying but from what I read, you're saying that when you turn the heat on it only come out on the driver's side, correct? Is the air coming out at all on the passenger side?

sorry for not being so clear i have driver side heat but not passenger heat. i can change the temp on the pass. side but it is always cold no matter if it is at 70 or 90 its always cold. the driver side controls work fine though. that and i havent noticed anything blinking on the climate controls. i just want some heat. cause its finally down in the 20's out here. that and because i just got a citation for my windshield not being clean from all the frost.

My drivers side air is cold when I turn on the heat. The passenger side is hot but the drivers side is cool even on 90. What could be causing this and how to fix it.

Also sounds like it could be a low charge.

Here's a diagram showing the blend door for passenger, #2. You should be able to turn key ON and change temp controls and have this actuator show rotation of its moving parts that are white. You can compare with the driver side actuator.
