Yes, only dealer pictures for now...more when I actually get it home, and get it cleaned up the way I need it.

Additional pictures while they're still up.

And just to put it out there....I don't love the color, right along with the rest of yah. 8-[

Needs:
Headliner repair (some minor saggage)
Sunroof button fascia.
Visors (Imagine that.)
Floor Mats (yeah...dunno where those went.)
Removal of the extremely un-macho hood pinstriping (looks like car has tramp-stamp, not good)
Full Detail (might need multiple clay bars)
transmission pan drop, oil change, coolant flush (probably because I'm overly particular)
A Brad-Tune & Don-LIM

Dislikes:
Aftermarket head unit, thusly, disabled steering wheel controls (will be rectified)
Wheels (who's idea ARE those anyways?)
The Color (See: Wheels)
Lack of AL7s

Likes:
UIM appears to have been replaced in 2006
Engine bay is clean, oil pressure is perfect, and gatorback belt tells me it was kept up perfectly
Very clean interior
Low Miles
New Tires
FE2 (Need I say more?)
Lack of SLUDGE IN RADIATOR!

And to clarify, I merely owe them a few hundred bucks, and need a new insurance policy, and it's coming home! It's only 15 mins south of me.

I'm kinda digging that wood look for some reason...

Looks good, WJ, I'm pretty sure that gold color is pretty rare (probably for the reasons you mentioned, lol)

I'm not a fan of plastic woodgrain in ANY car. If it's real wood in a Rolls Royce, I might make an exception, but frankly, I don't want wood in my car at all if I have a choice. That being said: As much as I don't like the woodgrain, the color of the car, or the wheels, . . . I LIKE THE CAR, and what a deal. If that car were available in my area and if I were in the market for one, I'd have bought it too.

Despite the LIM/UIM problems of the L36, I really like the L36 too, once those manifold problems are dealt with.

NICE CAR! Great deal!

Awesome color! (same as my GTP).

That's a good buy! I'm not a fan of those wheels either. They're the ones I hate most on a Bonneville. Chrome t-stars would like great on it.

Boy it makes me feel good to have you guys say that it's a good buy at the price they have on that craigslist ad...since I paid about...$2,200 before taxes.

They were sort of desperate to sell it obviously....it sat on the lot for a LONG time. I remember seeing it on craigslist back in...July IIRC? Anyways, so it started out in the mid $4XXX, then down to $3684 or 'book', then down to $2984, then in another week, down to $2984 plus 3% off with the printed craigslist ad. At that point, it already being November, my curiosity got the best of me and I just HAD to know why no one had bought it yet. I took a trip down there around noon and test drove it....oddly, still really couldn't find any considerable problems, besides the obvious aesthetic ones. So I walked inside with what money I had, which was enough to cover the cost of the car, plus a few hundred to cover the fees...but I guess I'd never bought a used dealer car in Florida though...it's FEE CENTRAL! Fees came to just over $1,400, and I told they guy, hey, that's it, can't afford it, don't have it, see yah.

Got a call from him the next morning, mentioning how he was very unhappy it didn't work out as planned, and said he'd love to earn my business if I got the remaining money together...but there was a very light tone of desperation in his voice. Next day, another call..same script, more desperation, this time asking if I had yet come up with more (after I told him my paycheck doesn't come in until the 13th), but I didn't return the call.

Wednesday had no calls, but then Thursday night, last night, at around 7:40 PM, he called me and left a message "Hey Walter, so and so down here at Plattner's of Venice, hey, it's our end of the month, and I'd really like to get you into that car no matter what. Tonight only. Call me back." Called him back, told him I could only give him $3300 out the door, he hemmed and hawed, came back with $3600, but allowing me to make a deposit of $3300, pay the remainder when I had the money, and take delivery then...locking the car into my name.

Sooo, there it stands, that's what I did, signed my name well over 20 times, dished out money, and here I stand. Broke and carless until I come up with that extra bit.

Thanks for the kind comments about it, I know I still sort of dislike the color..but it definitely isn't a color you see everyday, so I think it'll grow on me. Wheels are pretty bad too, but definitely after a few months of careful watching and saving, I should be able to pull off a new set of something slightly more attractive.

It's no white, but it'll work. :)
I really like that gold paint these cars come with. It's not like a dull beige/tan color, its a richer gold. But I like that John, Nice find indeed. I could do without those wheels but those are easily changed.

Congrats!

Very nice car...I love the color!

How much would you sell the rims for if you parted with them? Just curious.

Nice car! Yeah, the color's not all that. Who cares? It's still a nice car at a pretty good price! I bet before long you'll have it shined up and running even better than it is!
