So do we want to do this again?

I need some consensus from the group of potential attendees.

We need to confirm a location. I'm up for Corvallis for the 7th annual but have not been able to contact the Host for some time now.

Timing would be similar to before, timed around the Woodburn Showdown weekend usually the July weekend before the long weekend in August.

I would really like to propose a Meet on Vancouver Island but that could be a separate Meet for locals if we can't entice any far away American Bonne tourists.
Rathtrevor Park in Parksville would be perfect ($25/night). The Island highways are very nice. The sand is plentiful and the ocean water is warm.
We could tour to Tofino on the westcoast of the Island (Cold water but huge waves). There is a drag weekend in Port Alberni in August. There is a track at Saratoga.
Only challenge would be setting up home base in the campground would prohibit anything but simple mods and pulley swaps. That's the way it should be.

I'd really like to do more driving and show'n'shine things as a group, instead of getting down and dirty. We have the rest of the year to do that.
Drag racing is secondary for me and not necessary.

I drove to Port Alberni yesterday and that highway is amazing! Long uphill and downhill twisting 4 laners. It's only 40 miles there so doesn't take long.
Everyone does well over the 50 mph (80 kph) limit.
I tried to maintain 120 kph in the Jeep but kept getting passed by GTI's doing 150.
This is the same highway I discovered a driveshaft vibration in my Firebird at speeds above 125 mph.

If I were to be coming to Vancouver, I'd have to fly in. If it's in Corvallis, put me as a relatively sure, but VC, not so sure.

Paul, I don't know how many we can entice to Vancouver Island but it sounds like a great idea. We just won't mention the ferry ride or cost of it, will we?
That campground at Parksville is a great family destination for those with wives and kids who are not into car stuff. We would have to reserve spots several months in advance though.

Another idea would be Salmon Arm like Pmom suggested awhile back, lots of campsites, great beaches, warm water (in the summer) and lots of twisting, winding, hilly roads.

However, I'd still like to go to Corvallis in July, I think it's more convenient for the majority of members.

As it stands right now, I may not have a Bonnie to bring to any meet unless I run into a good deal.

If it is not in Canada this year you can 100% count me out. It is time our American friends make the trip up here. We would like to show off our beautiful country, there is life after the border people. Sorry, but this is getting old.

Hey Nichole, there are enough of us here in the Great White Northwest to do one on our own.

Salmon Arm might be nice. Get O'Neil to start another Meet thread and we'll see. :canada:

Because officially it has always been 5 days, Wed to Sun.

Depending on the host, some may arrive earlier and extend their Meet.
