SLE in the 12s

I was pretty happy with the day. I made passes, the car didn't break, and loaded itself back on the trailer to go home :D . That was my goal.

Then I also ran my personal best ever, 12.98@104. Not only that but the altitude density yesterday was at 3100ft. That's a big difference over sea level. I don't know if that was my best trap speed ever or not. I'll have to go look that up. I also go my best 60' ever yesterday, 1.84 on a pretty slippery track. I'm a big believer in the M/T ET Streets.

First race in eliminations happened to be Tim in his 02 GTP, but since he red lighted he beat himself for me. I think he would have gotten be if he hadn't. Second round I got paired with a 80's camaro and we both had pretty close dial-ins. He got me off the light and just edged me out at the end. The car kind of died off at the end there and I think it was just too hot in the intercooler and didn't have the last little bit. The wind had also picked up and I should have changed my dial in when I saw the guy in front of me do it too.

Over all it was a great day before the rain late in the afternoon.

Thanks. It still has a lot more in it. I didn't get to tune at all yesterday since my tuner decided not to work. I was able to tune the idle and cruise MAF and that is all before racing. So it ran at about 11.1AFR rich, but it was safe for the conditions. That track is so high it is about half a second slower than sea level, so I am pretty happy with how it is doing so far. Too bad there isn't any more racing to be done this year for me.

Congrats, and welcome to the 12 sec club. That's a great 60' time, had to feel good leaving the line. I think your .5sec it a little optimistic though, dragtimes.com puts it about 1.5 tenths quicker at sea level if you were at firebird raceway. Either way, that things a runner. You'll get more out of it next year :beerchug:

I've ran at both firebird and woodburn for several years in a row and it is always .5 faster for my car there as well as several of our other club cars that do both every year. Always has been. But whatever.

Ah........wooooooooooodburn. I don't know what it is about that place but the times and mph's don't add up there when compared against other dragway times. I'm not sure if they're mph's are slow or what but cars seem to defy physics there. I wasn't trying to ragg man, that's a great time and I'm sure you'll get more out of it next season. :beerchug:

:beerchug: You're fine.

I agree about woodburn. Their one lane just doesn't add up at all. I hate trying to figure out dial in there. Unless you are in the same lane every time it is tough. I think it is the right. We all complain about it every year, but they claim it is fine. :angry7:
