HVAC blower motor getting very loud...how to replace?

For some reason today while the ac was running the blower motor started sounding like a card in the spokes of a bicycle....the faster it spins, the louder it gets. Where is the blower motor at, and how hard is it to swap out? The sound is way to loud to live with for long. I've got a '00 bonneville with manual climate control.

Anyone tackle this job? From searching the posts it looks like a replacement can be gotten at autozone.

It's the round thing on the firewall, right near the middle. I have a feeling the 00-05 has a tighter space, but on my 92, you pull the drain hose off the bottom, unhook the wiring, remove the bolts, and you have just enough room to pull it out between the firewall and rear valve cover.

The blower motor has been moved in the 2000+s. It's now inside on the passenger side. It's a bit tricky to remove as it has to be turned "just so" to get it in and out. Before replacing it, check to make sure that nothing has gotten sucked into the fan. Things seem to find their way in there. Open the hood, and on the passenger side by the cowl, remove the cover for the cabin air filter (and the filter if it has one) and look inside for any strange objects.

Before you go removing the blower motor try taking out the cabin air filter and looking down in there for any foreign objects. I had the same thing happen on my wife's 2000 Bonneville and it turned out to be a small piece of paper that had gotten in there.
