Anybody ever run a 125 shot on a stock LN3 before? If so how did it like it? And did you have any problems?

55 shot doesnt really do much for me. I mean its a noticable difference but its not big enough. I am not asking if I should use it because I am going to be spraying a 125 shot but mainly if anybody has sprayed a 125 shot and what there experience was with it.

Just in case your wondering im runnin 93 octane with the 55 shot and ill be using 100 octane with the 125 shot. I wont go to a larger shot until I start tuning out timing with a custom happy knob. Im not worried about the trans either. If it blows Ill rebuild it better.

I'd be more worried about your bottom end and your rings. I wouldn't run a 125 HP shot on an L26, which has the same powdered metal rods as the L32, so it's basically the same bottom end. Have you tried a 75 HP shot? I'd work my way up before going whole-hog, and having no motor anymore.

125 shot of nitrous on a 150 hp engine?

You could try it, but I would not count on the engine lasting that long.

Can you run the LN3 on a 125hp shot of nitrous oxide? Yes, you can. At least once, and done very carefully, you can probably drive the car home.

Should you run it on that much laughing gas? No, it's not advisable. The motor is designed to run at a power output of 165hp. That large of a shot is going to take the motor to 290hp, well over the recommendations of all the kit manufacturers and guys like me who use laughing gas on a regular basis.

It comes down to how willing you are to accept the risk of tearing up the motor or transmission. Same kind of problems folks have run across when supercharging stock LN3's...the N/A motors aren't built with enough fudge factor to go way past the rated power GM put on it.

Tacking an extra 30 or 50 hp on top, as you have discovered, is OK to do, and does no permanent damage. 75hp shot is do-able too...but that's about where I start think to myself "Self, this is a dumb idea".

Allmachtige ran a 75hp shot on the better-built L27, and only rarely. That was pushing it.

Well it looks like well see how it goes then. The jets should arrive monday maybe tuesday, so I will update either friday or saturday after i get a couple races in maybe thursday definatly friday night.

Octane isn't going to be enough.... You need more fuel, i'd really look into a wet kit.. And a forged L67 bottom end!

How is the system you are using set up? ( fogger / plate into the plenumn, or multiple nitrous jets on the intake runners with stock injectors providing the fuel )

If you are running a fogger or some sort of plate into the plenumn, you should be able to deliver enough fuel to support that much oxidizer. What size fuel & nitrous jets are you going to use?

If you are using the stock injectors to deliver the extra fuel, you may be past the limit of what they can deliver.

So this is an intentional destruction more than a 'will it work'? Seems like it.

With the weather being as warm as it has been I have been going thru methanol boost cooler by the gallon.

IAT after SC has been at 150 F for two weeks now!

If I don't have the water injection turned on the KR is scary! Even with the larger 3.4 pulley.
It almost feels like I am running NO2.........and you know how I feel about spray.


If I had to put up with this heat all the time like some of you southern guys, I would be intercooled with a 6" thick block (if that were even possible!).

A lot of the gaskets were going when I sold that car and I'm sure the nitrous sped up the process.

It is a wet shot going into the plenum. The jets are .052 for the Nitrous and .030 for the fuel. I just replaced my fuel filter the day I started spraying the 50 shot. The fuel pump is about a year old. Which I may drop for a walbro. At which point Ill upgrade the wiring.

I still am sitting on the sidelines waiting to see what comes of this!

Just got the Jets today. Going to wait until friday to refill the bottle and throw some 104 in it.

Keep us posted! I've seen a member on another forum that went into the 11's on a 125 pill with headers, 3.2, tune & 1.9's.

I would like to see you do it. I don't have the foggiest idea weather it's a good idea or not.
