ABS/Traction Control

Quick question. My ABS and Traction Control lights just came on on my dash. Could anyone give me an idea where to start looking to figure out what is going on; sensor on the front rotor, ABS relay, etc?

Thanks

The place to start would be to disconnect, clean, and inspect the wheel speed sensors and wire connections located on the inner sides of both front hubs.

The system can be scanned for fault codes by a shop, most likely. I know that my '94 can, so I'd think yours should be too, if you have a shop with the proper equipment.

I'd agree, it's likely a wheel speed sensor. However, I did experience an intermittent ABS ligh on my Cutlass, due to a bad alternator and battery. The system wasn't receiving enough volts, and the computer would get confused. Light never came back since repairing those parts.

Gentlemen

Thanks for the advice. I finally got around to checking to wheel speed sensors on all four hubs. Removed, cleaned and replaced with dielectric grease. Lights are still on. I noticed the switch for the traction control on the center console does not click when I depress. Could that switch be causing it. If so, then what about the ABS light on too?

Any other suggestions and help is greatly appreciated.
