i posted a problem with my 92 bonneville not starting after running and going to start it and it just turns over and over and sometimes the starter stays ingaged and kills the battery. Well i thought i would try this.. I let it warm up really good even took it for a ride and then turned it off,of course it did the same thing, so quickly before it killed the battery again i unhooked the battery and let it sit and then rehooked it up. I grabbed my air hose and blew cold air directly on the crank sensor for a bit and then tried it. It fire right up and usually it would take 15 to 20 minutes before it cooled down enough to resart. I tried this more than once and the same thing it fire right up :) So would this mean it is the crank sensor because i wasn't getting any codes for this failing. Well hopefully it is the problem it is not that expensive anyways to try it.

Thanks, Dan.i

It sounds like you have it narrowed down to the crank sensor.

I'm not sure what's going on with the starter staying engaged. The crank sensor wouldn't have anything to do with that problem. You may have a bad starter or ignition switch.

For the starter, I would be inclined to go with the starter relay, but I wish you the best. Getting the harmonic balancer off is always a fun job

Yah it's kind of weird even if you turn the ignition off it stays engaged until i disconect the battery :???:
