Car Alarm Issue

So this what it does after it arms itself.

The regular horn works fine, but when i unlock and lock all the doors, it sounds just like this little "blump" noise like you hear here. Are there two horns in our cars? Maybe a fuse or relay is messed up?

So, wait. Your alarm is supposed to be going off at this point? I hear what sounds like someone pounding on a snare drum with the snares turned off. Is that what I'm supposed to be listening for? Sounds like something's messed up. Does your horn work normally?

Yeah that little noise is my car alarm horn going off. My normal horn works fine.

The horn is located on the drivers side, accessible when you remove the inner fender. There is probably an aftermarket horn mounted there as well, going bad.

So you think that an aftermarket horn was added and that it is now going bad?

I understand that there are two horns on our cars. How do I know which one is the broken one?

My regular horn works fine... so I know one of the two horns work as they should.

The regular horn is a 2-horn design... mounted on the same unit. Anytime you push the horn, both horns engage.

The OEM one will look OEM, and the aftermarket one will look aftermarket. If you can't tell the difference, you shouldn't be working on it.

Replacing the horn is not a difficult project. I am just confused in trying to troubleshoot which horn is bad.

Looking at Gumaball's picture at the beginning of this thread, are both of those horns the "double" OEM horn?

So do I also have an aftermarket horn added or is that your guess?
