Byron Dragway on Saturday - New Personal Best

Post by Allmachtige »

Car #111

R/T: .375
60': 2.139
330: 5.807
1/8: 8.857
MPH: 80.88
1000: 11.456
1/4: 13.638
MPH: 104.06

I don't think I can get a much better 60' on RS-A's, even at 22psi. These tires are pure garbage so my next investment will be ANY tire over these.

I'm not quite sure why my 1/4 mile traps are so high. If you look at car 94 I raced against you can see he trapped higher at the 1/8, but lower on the 1/4. Either its me slipping off the line or the fact that I hold 2nd across the finish is hurting me, but I don't know if allowing the car to shift into 3rd will help because it literally would be shifting just before the finish.

My goal is to get some tires, bring the 60 foots down, and get a 13.5xx. All in all I'm making progress, so that's all good.

Wow -you can see where the the cam and headers really help -your 1/8 is slightly better than mine, but 1mph faster, but then you pick up 4.4mph and .2 in the back 1/8 over my PB run.
Nice work there and with slicks you'll probably see 13.3-13.4's. :hail:

That was with a 2004 GTP timing table +1 degree.

Now I'm trying a 2000 SSEi's table with +4 timing, which comes out to almost the same except for more timing in the lower rpms.

Nice time. I have some goodies in the garage itching to get under the hood and see some track time. We'll have to get out to Byron once both our car's are running right before it gets too hot.

I'll be there but not racing. Pretty sure i can crack 13's as it sits but don't see a point with all the stuff waiting to go on.

Whats wrong with high trap speeds? Shifting into 3rd is just gonna slow ya down, itll drop u outta the power band. The old GM Powerglide is a 2speed auto and is the hardcore choice for RWD dragracers. If you had a deeper gear ratio you would def be going into 3rd. You might as well see what it does I guess with a couple runs going into 3rd, wont hurt i spose. And yeah grab some new meats those 60's blow!! JKJK
