2002 Dodge Stratus blower motor

My wife tells me only the third setting on the blower motor works. There are four total, but it only blows on number three. This winter I noticed one and two didn't work, only three and four. Now only number three works out of a total of four. It is a dial control knob, not a slider control
Does anyone know if this is something easy, something I can fix?
thanks

Often the system uses resistors to vary the power going to the blower motor, which changes the speed. some of your resistors are shot. As far as replacing them, I'm not familiar with the stratus at all.

Thanks for the tip... I googled blower motor resistor and found many hits regarding it. It seems a common failure. It is a $30.00 part and is located under the dash on the passenger side. I hope that is all it is
thanks again

Yeah, same here on my Dad's Durango. He has been through 3 resistors since he bought it, and he's fairly sure it's not the motor causing the failures, but who knows....

$31.00 at Checker Auto for the resistor, but it is really raining today, and she needs her car, so it is going to wait. i hope it is the fix

FINALLY got around to replacing the blower motor resistor. It worked. She now has all of her blower motor settings. The hardest part was figuring how the darn thing came off the harness. I was doing it laying on my side laying across the passenger door threshold. Not too bad. 30 minute job

had the same thing go out on my 91 chevy, strange problem but it seems common enough glad to hear it wasn't something more annoying
