107,000 miles later, it's back in my hands for $100. It still runs but is extremely rough and will be parted out.

That's just disgusting. I'm confident you didn't sell it that way! There is no excuse for such filth, mess and general lack of care/maintenance. Some people should not be allowed to own a nice car.

In all honesty, 32x,xxx and almost 20 years out of a salt state car is pretty good.

I agree. I think its in pretty decent shape considering. I mean look at the drivers seat, almost no wear! Even the console lid has held up.

I still disagree. Zoom in and look at the black filth on the armrest, the shifter plate and stains/spills on the passenger seat. Probably hasn't seen a vacuum cleaner since Andrew sold it. Dirt and black marks all over the carpet, including up the sides toward the center console. Body wise this may be in decent shape, but it doesn't take a lot of effort to suck out the crumbs and crap once in a while, or to wipe down the interior and keep it clean. I "might" be a little on the OCD side with my cars, but this... well, I'm not sure I'd want to even sit in it. I know Andrew has had much worse, but this isn't great at all.

I guess my expectations for the way other people treat their belongings is calibrated differently. No surprise or hang ups on this end. People doing people things.

Darcy you haven't seen the inside of many $100 cars, LOL. This thing is MINT for the price.

Well, let's be fair here... I'm sure with only marginal effort, you'd find a way to buy half the state of Minnesota for $100 :P

Honestly, that still looks better than the 1 Bonneville I see per month around here.

Most people don't care about a brand new car, let alone a two decade year old beater.

You're right, most people don't care. What surprises me however, is that a vehicle, for a large number of people will be the second largest purchase they make in their life. Failing to take care of them is shocking, in my opinion. I attended a collision about a month ago. One of the vehicles was an early 90's white Buick. I would have eaten off the floor of this car. The owner kept it in immaculate condition, and is not a car person. Just someone who values what they have and took good care of it. Sadly, the car will be written off. Not a lot of damage, but far too much for what it's worth. Had it not been for the body damage, this car would have seen a lot more years of service.
