Ok, guys....I haven't booked a campsite, yet, because, to be honest, I haven't been sure if I will be able to pull this off financially, this year. I prepared a trip budget, today, and gas prices are really putting a damper on things. :???: At this point, I still plan on attending, but things are looking really tight.

Also, in looking over the attendance list, I am not really sure all of those who are listed as staying at the KOA are actually staying there. I guess I should go back through and read posts to try and figure out who is staying at the campground and what site they are in.

I will talk to Thomas (PDXGTP) this week to see if he has finalized his plans or not. When I talked to him last week, he was still undecided if he was going to make it or not.

I don't know how big each campsite is, but I have number 44 reserved, and it's just going to be me, my car, and my tent. Individual sites often have room for a couple cars and a few tents, I don't know what this particular campground can handle, but maybe someone who has attended before can chime in. Usually there's a small fee for an additional vehicle at a site. If that's the case and you just need a place to park and put up a tent, I can share my site. I'll be staying Wednesday night through Saturday night.

Thanks, Mark. That is very generous of you. My biggest concern is the gas, but every little bit will help.

In the past, I have always had my own site, not because I have been selfish or anything, but I do snore occasionally (although I think I don't do it much, if at all, in the more humid, cleaner than Phoenix, Oregon air) and I tend to be one of the ones that goes to bed earlier than the others, so I didn't want anyone to have to tip-toe around because I was already in the tent or keep anybody up if I ended up snoring. Anyways, If your still willing to share the site (no big deal if you're not), I'll would split the cost 50/50 with you, plus any additional fees for an extra car. IIRC, the site prices are for two people (plenty of room for two tents ) and one vehicle. My plans at this point are to arrive Wednesday evening and leave Monday morning, mainly because I enjoyed having Sunday to relax after race day on Saturday, but if I stay an extra day, I can just pay for Sunday night.

I plan on making it, Paul, and appeciate the support. I am not in desperate mode (yet...just cautious), and do not need/want any freebies. Not my style. I just need to be smart about the costs I incur and make wise choices. I really didn't think it would be that big of a deal until I ran the numbers today, using realistic gas prices. Wow, what a difference from a year ago. The gallons add up quick.

No problem at all. Since Mrs. Bugsi and the kids couldn't go this year, I was worried I'd be far apart from the group alone in my own site. It sounds like the sites are like normal campgrounds, so absolutely, pitch your tent, park your car, join the club.
Oh wait, we're already a club. :beerchug:

This might seem stupid, but this will be my first WCBF, and I'm just wondering what all to bring. If some veterans can chime in with their survival gear list, that would help. I plan to bring:
Tent, air mattress, pillow, sleeping bag, lamps/flashlights, bug repellant, food, beer, fire stuff, and A CHAIR. I can't believe I went camping without a chair once. I've learned that a chair is like the most important thing EVER!

But seriously, what else do you veterans bring?

No need for fire stuff or bug repellent.

Add cooler for the beverages and maybe an umbrella for the track to shade the sun, oh and dont forget the camera!!

Towels!! and i wear sandals in the shower to avoid trench foot.....it is public.

Laptop cause they have wifi, laundry soap if you need to clean your clothes.
