Re: What did you do to your car today?
Pulled the front seats out of the bonneville and disassembled most of the center console for a "proper" cleaning. Ordered valve cover gaskets and grommets. Also ordered the aluminum elbows, since i plan on getting to the LIM gasket before it starts getting cold. Replaced the front shocks on the avalanche, saved the rear for a project next weekend then remembered the gaskets should be here. Well, weekend in the garage it is!!

Re: What did you do to your car today?
I need to do that one of these days, there's some crud in there that the regular vacuuming isn't getting out. What I did do this weekend was change the oil, replace one of the battery terminal bolts that was giving me trouble, and touch up some scratches and dents on the front bumper. Looking and running a bit smoother now!

Finished assembling the car, gave it a wash and its first hand waxing. Debating on whether to just pop on that Black SSEi front bumper cover or hold off...

Talked to the guy that does body work for our shop...he wants 500 bucks just to paint the bumper cover I have....grrr. Of course, the paint color isn't that cheap, nor is it an easy one to shoot. I've never shot metallics out of a gun, so I'm not sure if I want to tackle it with such expensive paint....Looks like I need to work out a deal with Harofreak on that bumper cover he has that's already painted....short on cash at the moment though, so I'm going to have to suck it up and deal with it for now.

Cleaned all my glass meticulously in the 95+ degree heat only to park under a tree and have it all be ruined. Haha.

Removed valve covers and bagged engine. Wainting on ups to show up with the gasket/grommet kit. Seem to be running slow today:(

Re: What did you do to your car today?
I'm sure I could find all sorts of takers for the bumper I have. I have to get the plastic repair kit on the crack around the fog light...might do that this weekend.
nos4blood70 ...I did the same thing. Cleaned the heck out of the glass, even used my buffer on it, waxed the car. It's parked under a Cottonwood tree....covered in crap overnight....I hate that tree.

Re: What did you do to your car today?
Finished valve cover gaskets, oil change and changed air filter. Found something disturbing when i was under the car changing the oil. Exhaust manifolds are still smoking, might be all the old oil sitting on them, dont see any fresh spots on the ground.

Installed me freshly resealed sunroof glass. It's well sealed from the elements, but I don't think it's a long term solution, but a good one for those with a sunroof they want to seal up and not silicon into place. Got my dash put back together with the LED lights that replaced the bulbs...haven't gone out to check it out yet...I should do that now!

Re: What did you do to your car today?
well, disappointed...needles are blue, the rest is dimly lit..barely readable, so I need to either find a way to reflect the light or I need different LED's....

I superglued so to speak a hook system in my trunk so that I can have a cargo net that I like. I went to the junkyard and got a horn and an EGR valve which I installed today. Yesterday I change my filter and oil with synthetic 10w30

Sure makes that $60 I spent on a set of okay tail lights and center reflector worth it...looks much better than half the Bonneville's running around with delam.

Re: What did you do to your car today?
So, that's done, and I ran a wire from the fuse box to the radio to give me 12v accessory power so I don't have to have the headlights on to use the radio. Took a bit of searching here to find the post about having to run that wire for an aftermarket system. I also ran a dead wire next to it so that I can run the trigger for an amp if I decide to add some boom to the trunk. If I had a longer set of RCA cables, I would have run those as well, but I think in the even I do put in a sub, I'll be tearing the seats out and running the wires underneath the console and carpet...

Re: What did you do to your car today?
I had a crack develop in my exhaust right by the resonator which made the car sound like a bucket. I took down the whole exhaust from header back and Matt welded it yet again. I got it back on and now it goes whine instead of brap.

Re: What did you do to your car today?
Stopped at U pull today to do a little research on our other vehicle, and while I was out scouting I picked up a replacement spare tire donut for the Bonneville since the one mine came with was blown out. I have a full size spare in the trunk that is a matching rim, but I didn't want that rusty piece of garbage hiding under the carpet like a troll any longer. Also picked up a cargo net for the trunk...8 bucks.
I also came across an Olds Aurora...poked around in it and thought that if I had the chance, with a nicer condition one that I wouldn't mine replacing the interior of my Bonneville with the Aurora's...seems like the interior is almost exactly the same as the Bonneville sans the dash and center console. The trunk seemed smaller, but it also appeared that short of the quarter panels/rear end, I could swap over all the parts from the Bonneville onto the Aurora and visa versa. Kinda cool and kinda weird all the same. Not sure I'd want to mash up the two cars though...With the right parts though, you could make a really confusing car to car guys...lots of double takes...lol.

became really tired of replacing the 3057/3157 tail/brake lamps so, I used dual intensity red LED "bulbs". Did all four. Hope this is it, that I never have to do that again. - BC
