It won't hold vacuum. Replace the line.

I have used a piece of hose inserted into almost the U bend before and then connected a new piece over that and the hard line that should connect to it.

The U bend is a special connector and can't easily be replaced with vac line.

I got one of those, however it does have a hairline crack it in, not nearly as bad as yours. Might get you by until you find a new one.

The first pic looked good, however, the second one....probably just as bad as what I have now.
Thanks for the offer though. I'll be check the dealership, most likely they won't carry it anymore and I'll have to rig it up like WillWren posted.

That means your regulator is working. You need to monitor pressure during a WOT run to see if the pump is keeping up.
I would sugest fixing the evap line first, if that does not correct the lean condition, check fuel pressure onder load.

Definately going to go through the EVAP line and replace any hoses that might be bad.

A friend of mine who is very familiar with our cars suggested replacing the O-rings on the injectors. He said, commonly on older mileage cars like mine, air is being pulled through old rings causing the lean condition. Said it'll cost $50 and a couple hours and it won't hurt to clean the injectors while thier out.

I used electrical tape to secure any of the evap hoses that looked kinda shady.
Took it for another stomping session and at 83 degree temps, LTFT went down to 0.0, then 1.2.
KR hit 5.0 with 9.0 lbs of boost. Found out today that my magnaflow cat is rattling from the inside :angry4:
Thinking about deleting the cat entirely since the emissions pulls from the computer and the rear O2 is deleted anyway.

I think the KR is being caused by the trans mount touching the front manifold. Going to hit billboost up for a custom mod mount :hail:

You still need to monitor the fuel pressure during a WOT run to make sure that your fuel pump is still up to the task after 140k. The WOT LTFT is based on your fuel trims just before you enter PE mode so a weak pump could still cause a fuel shortage in the upper rpm despite what the scan gauge says. If your KR was just from the headers touching the front trans mount I would think you would see random KR at all engine speeds, not just at peak boost.

Good point. But higher RPMs = higher vibrations....
I should just change the fuel pump anyway. Coming up on 142K on the factory pump....not bad.

The cat could have been the problem all along. Do NOT run without a cat. It's illegal in all 50 states regardless of whether or not you have emissions testing. The fines if the 'wrong' shop or person catches you are very stiff.

Your car is not modded to the point that a cat removal would gain you much, and you will very likely lose low-end torque. Many have already. Get a high-flow cat replacement. Or go with an exhaust cutout for the track like I do (when your motor is flowing enough to matter).

running a little lean or not, I'd bet you a fiver that if you got rid of that 3 degree advance at WOT your KR would be drastically reduced. My LTFT's are around 2-4 at WOT and the most KR i ever see is under 1 degree. Most of the time i can take a good WOT run from 30 to 100 with no KR whatsoever and i have a smaller pulley on a more restrictive exhaust.

I'm replacing the injector o-rings tomorrow as well as cleaning them while their out.
If that's not it, I'm betting it's the fuel pump.

Put the o-rings in and seems a bit better. Got on the highway and accelerated from 10 mph to 88 (back to the future speed), and only saw KR hit 1.2. After I slowed down to 65, I put the throttle down about 75% and saw KR jump to 4. Got off the highway and came back and accelerated to 90 and again, KR was very low. But at cruising speed, add 60% or more throttle and KR jumps. I think the low humidity (84 degrees) helped with these positive results, but I'm still baffled why I'm getting KR at all.
Next step, fix the resonator.

low humidity would yield higher kr than high. high humidity is kinda like free water injection. on a smaller scale of course.

is it possible that the knock your sensor is seeing is false from the trans?
