Yes. Now imagine I'm just pulling heat from the boost charge with that thing, instead of trying to keep liquid cool that has been circulating around combustion chambers.

That should make sense. Did you ever reveal the core? Was it like a Probe heater core or something of the sort? If it's a heater core, and I'm being serious, do Probes have an amazing amount of cabin heat whenever you want it?

EDIT: I'm doing my best to keep this on topic, but it's kind of hard while not talking about M90s. So, can an M90 be kept cool with your intercooler?

I'd assume that it's some type of radiator, off of something.

Just to chime in and back up what Bill's been saying...heat soak isn't really an issue for a W2A intercooler setup when a proper sized heat exchanger and pump are used.

As a test (not very scientific mind you), I drove to my favorite deserted highway and did several extended WOT runs (back to back) on a hot summer day. Immediately pulled over to check things out and found that the heat exchanger for the intercooler was only warm to the touch...not much higher than ambient. I'm using a generic scirocco style radiator from JEGS and the GM 6gpm pump fwiw. Pretty standard cooling setup for a full sized IC. Based on the system's performance under those circumstances, loss of IC efficiency during the occasional quick WOT sprint or track run is a non-issue.

It also depends how well you get air to flow though it, how many fins per inch, and the right flow of liquid through the exchangers.
