If you cant afford Premium, then you cant afford to drive.

Not to mention any "cost savings" is negated as the engine is not as efficient with it having to pull timing in order to save itself from chipping a piston. From a cost-savings perspective, running regular gas to save money is a farce.

The fact that one has yet to experience an incident related to running lower than recommended octane is merely a testament to the over-engineering of this engine and its resiliency to save itself from either unfortunate incidents or people who dont know any better. Obviously, there have been particular 3800 where it could only do so much. Or, like many old s/c 3800 I have encountered the bypass valve was stuck open being the convenient save for the engine from low-octane damage.

I thought this topic had run its course, but I see that there are still some out there that can't resist the personal attack.

At this point, I really don't give a *shoot* what you say, as the car has been sold long ago and there is no more to say on the subject.

I have resisted up to this point, to not further the personal attacks, but if this continues, then I'm all in, it's your choice.

Feelings have nothing to do with it, and neither does my ability to "afford" to drive what ever I choose.
This is where it becomes personal, none of you have any idea what I can and can not afford.
This thread was never about the cost of anything, that was your assumption .

Now, you can "get over yourself" if your not too thick headed to have a discussion, instead of trying to make yourselves seem superior at the expense of some one else.
