In all honesty I really think you would enjoy it. My meets have generally been going the direction of just a gathering of gearheads rather then a strictly Bonneville meet. It is a great time and you will meet a bunch of good people and have a hell of a fine time doing it while also getting to check out other nice rides, Bonnevilles and more! No drama, no ignorance, no BS... just a flat out good time for all..... and beer

Jeez Randy! It's only 693 miles from Minneapolis, get it right. I figured $270 in gas total give or take. And it was like 120 miles from Ryan's place to the meet it think. I've had my doubts but I don't think it's anything I'll regret. If you REALLY wanted to do something interesting we could maybe take a ferry across Lake Michigan but it's cheaper to just spend the extra gas money and drive around. But ya...peer pressure so. Do it! Do it! Do it!

There's light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully the SSEi will be fixed this week, and I will then get working on the little loose ends to tie up before this meet. Like I said, might be a Friday arrival but I'm going to see what Ryan and I can work out, since we work at the same place now it may be hard to get both of us off Friday. I know it has already been said, but just to reitterate, Royal oak is nothing like Detroit. Even though people have been saying Detroit for the Intense meet, it is a suburb, and not at all the same as the D. Royal oak is what I would call a safe city. Don't let the hype of what goes down in the city stop you from enjoying what I'm sure will be two fun car meets.

Although, if your travels leads you through the city, I would suggest having enough gas to pass through. Car jacking in the city has been on the rise. Especially at gas stations.

We'll only be in the Detroit area for Saturday, and as mentioned, where we'll be is very nice. And for what it's worth, I make the same 750+ mile trek to Michigan twice a year, and 2010 I believe we did it 3 times. Though, I get to drive through the WV mountains which is entertaining. But at anyrate It's worth it Randy.

If passing through Detroit, I will not stop, gas pedal will be firmly planted.

Don't go through Detroit, take US23 North instead of I75. Less traffic, doesn't go through Detroit, and is just a better route in general.

I have almost all the little nagging stuff finished now. Still need to sand and polish my taillights (and detail the whole car), but I've discovered a new swimming pool in the spare well. It's a good thing GM didn't build boats, they'd all be underwater by now.

Ordering MORE oil cooler parts today. I have a shelf full of oil cooler crap I cant even use that I didnt return on time. I gotta quit doing that.

Wow this meet is looking so good. And I am so disappointed because I have customers for that whole weekend. I am going to see if I can move anything around. I am thinking if its possible to move anything around I can head in friday afternoon after work. Stay the night and hopefully hitch a ride with someone in a fast car (fast compared to mine ) to the intense meet. Then head back and depart in time to get a decent amount of rest for work. Have an estimated time for the return to your house? Dont know how long the intense meet would be going

Last year the Intense meet ended about 5 or 6 iirc.

Bonneville gets dropped off tomorrow. Let's all pray to the Bonneville gods it's an easy fix.

Let's get this nailed down now, a little less then three weeks to go, we is for sure in, who is a maybe, and who is no longer able to make it? I will be using this roll call for the attendance list I will edit into the first post, let's make it a big meet!!!

Please post your attendance status, the car you will be driving, and if you will have any passengers. There will be drinking, but it will also be family friendly so not too super crazy. I will have my boys and Mia will be about 2.5 months old by then so don't be afraid to bring your significant other or kids!

It will just be me in the GP and I'm supposed to have Thursday off so I should be there mid afternoon, so I don't get stuck in traffic again like last year.

Liz and I will be there! Friday night to Sunday afternoon. G8, of course.

We'll be booking a room at the Midland Resort & Convention Center.

with the one and only 'Gina' I'm planning on bringing a tent, some detailing items, food, and maybe beer. Although it may be better to save the weight and just buy stuff there. I'm getting very excited and haven't really partaken in anything like this ever! Just hoping the car makes the journey trouble free...no reason why it shouldn't

I will be in the 2000 and should arrive thursday night and depart monday morning. It will be just me and i will need floor space somewhere for my sleepingbag, otherwise i think ill just bring money for food and drink and can pitch in wherever needed.
