Michigan area meet, July 11th - 18th UPDATE 7-5 first post

I haven't been able to make it to past meets mainly due to the kids being in school still...but their last day is June 21st so this date would work well... I could bring them to MI for our Annual Camping Trip and hit the meet at the same time. My big tent, however, has a big hole that needs fixing... the spiders had a hayday last year crawling through the seam. My daughter flipped out totally.

How about July 10th - 18th? Do the normal weekend meet and then just continue on for the rest of the week for those interested.

probably the best chance you have for me. the later in the fall the better chance I'll be there so you're going the right way

Im in for sure. when ever. ill do what ever i can to get it off if i happen to be working two jobs at the time.

doesn't matter week long or weekend. either way ill be there at some point. i might actually have some vacation time by then too. we'll see.

im excited. hopfully we get a even larger crowd then last year. Cuz it was a blast.

Well, if there are no objections to July 10th - 18th, I will start calling parks tomorrow and see what I can dig up. I would like to get Kensington State Park again, and I think there is someone in the office there once a week or so right now.

i voted for a weekend meet because i probably wont be able to take too many days off of work...

I hope you don't mind me drivin the Blazer, had the Bonneville the last two years, its the blazers turn

Kensington sounds great to me... and depending on my work schedule i might be able to hang out for an extra day or two... we'll see when it gets closer...

Weekend sounds like a good idea, and agreed that Kensington was a beautiful place. I think i can only do a Saturday run, cant take too much time off work

Also, depending on how things go with My mom's car, The SLE might stay but also the chance of it going. So i might have to take the Ion.

Well, I was in town today talking to the manager at the auto parts store. Basically, if there is enough people that stay for the week long meet and want to do some work on their cars ( oil changes, brakes, etc.. ) that we can get a discount. She wants me to let her know a few weeks before the meet what is going on so she can get something set up for us.

She can't get the aluminum framed LIM gaskets though.... I already checked.

As long as you stay away from the week/weekend of June 18th It's all good for me. AND my car should be painted by then!

Well, with no objection to July 11th - 18th I will set the date at that.

It will be a long / short meet combo like mentioned earlier. This way we can still get the large meet at the park, and continue for the rest of the week at my house so that anyone that is interested can stay or join later

I will call the office at Kensington park right now.

I just called. The pavillions are $150 per day!!!! I think they went up just a bit since our last meet there

Anyways, they only have a few pavillions left right now for that day and the lady said that they have been taking about 4 bookings a day right now. Problem is that I don't have an extra $150 to book the pavillion right now.

We have two options then...
#1 find another place to have it that is cheaper or free
#2 I can take donations via paypal and then get a guaranteed spot for the day.

the first option is no problem, it would just require a bit more digging.

We need to get it figured out soon though.

Didn't donations work pretty well last year? I'd be all for that, you do way too much in terms of financing these meets, and I'd love to help you out . BTW, since I'm not going to WCBF this year, I'll probably stay the week...
