Now, on with the build!

Brake lines were rusted. Rusted enough that they fell off when touched.

Replaced with 3/16 Teflon coated lines and metric fittings from O’Reilys.

While I did the lines, I replaced the calipers and pads since 3 of the 4 calipers were rusted and seized to the brake rotors. Turned the rotors since they were still usable. Upgraded the front calipers using 98-02 Camaro twin piston units. Ceramic pads.

Nice. Did you paint the front calipers yourself?

Sure did. Came out pretty good, for a rattle can. Gonna bleed the brakes today and weld up my exhaust to my headers.

Seeing those brake lines hurt my soul. They look even worse than the ones on my Camaro I had to replace.

Thanks. Car is almost complete. Buying the paint for a reap ray today. Hopefully done In a week or so.

My happiness and excitement was drained the same way brake fluid drained out from the leaking line after attempting to fill up the reservoir. Replacing the line was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. The pipe bending tool from OReilys helped a bunch. Car is working now, should be on the road soon!
