One look at the list of cars in your sig sends that message! LOL I'd love a musclecar as a playtoy but my income wont support multiple joyriders (I'm doing good to support the two I have)

I find it interesting the take different people have on fuel economy. My brother for example, wont even own a car with a 6cyl on the basis of mpg. Yet he drives (especially on the highway) like his hair is on fire. He bent his policy once with a Mazda MPV 3.0, but complained he never got better than 20mpg. I thought 20mpg @ 80mph wasnt so bad myself. He looks at my Bonneville as a guzzler, but I've always said he's obviously forgotten the mileage he used to get on his old Chrysler Imperial with its 440 big block. 18 ft of premium land yacht didnt set mpg records.

I have found it interesting how many 6cyl powered SUVs fall below the Magnum's 17/25 for the Hemi w/MDS. Those SUVs are heavy and push a lot of wind, so that hurts, but I'll bet the Mag has to be driven with a tender foot to hit those figures.

I will be keeping my eye peeled for something that hits that happy medium of price/versatility/mpg/fun-to-drive.

Small price for my addiction.

What you explain is like seeing Prius drivers, driving like they're Mario Andretti and *trying* to run with hi-po cars. You're aren't hyper-miling their bro-ski.

She was keen to point that same thing out...the back door windows need to be darker...but aside from that, the more I look at the chop the better I like it. I hate it when I do this to myself (where is Foose or Troy Trepanier when I need them?) LOL

Lamenting about wagons again this morning. First, a couple pics of my own:
If I had to replace the G8 tomorrow, the E91 3-series 328i wagon would be on my shortlist for sure. 3.0L straight-six, naturally aspirated, and a manual transmission. And if you're in 'Murica, you can have all this with RWD. Canada was AWD only. What's there not to like -- oh, and my 18x9 Gold Forgestar F14 rims will bolt right up!

Ive found a couple a nice Magnum R/Ts, so I'll be looking into those in the coming week.

Bimmer wagons are so awesome. I'd want a E60 535i wagon in manual please. Awesome cars, but I will admit that the 3 series looks better.

I remember the episode of USA Top Gear where Rutledge road tested the CTS-V wagon...gotta admit it was a monster. My biggest thing with Caddys has always been the "art and science" design theme. I've always been on the fence about the whole concept. It looks far and away better than the woeful cars they replaced, and it is a signature look that fits a statement made by Lee Iacocca, "A great design doesn't need identification. You know what kind of car it is if didn't have any badges or nameplates at all."

Yet there is still something about the angular lines that I cant put my finger on. From some angles they look hard and aggressive while others look thick and heavy. The CTS coupe especially I think. The V wagon is a tough unit but I like the Magnum styling lines much better.

Oddly, The Caddy ELR is one of the nicer looking coupes appearance-wise I've seen in a while, and if I were interested in a hybrid, I'd take that over a Volt, Prius or Tesla anyday. Its a shame something that looks so good has to suffer with such a meager eco-drivetrain.

You still can't move for wagons over here. They're still very popular, even though SUVs and crossovers have taken some of their market share. My only gripe is that they seem to be getting less practical in the name of fashion.

The Hyundai i40 wagon is certainly popular. Incidentally the i40 is an odd size. It's smaller than the Sonata sold in the US, but bigger than an Elantra. The BMW, Merc, and Audi wagons are everywhere.

That reminds me of the people that pass me on the Interstate driving their Prius and, I'm rolling 75-80 mph. As they go by I'm thinking to myself, you're a living oxymoron to drive a Prius and drive that fast. You'd probably get better fuel mileage driving a new Mustang GT. - BC
