I bought the Trico Onyx for my Bonneville around 2 years ago. Been holding up great. Only a minor streak on the driver's side. The G8 has Trico Neoforms (installed this past summer), but they almost never get used. Don't remember what's on the LeSabre, but once it's running again, I'll probably replace them anyway.
My mom's 97 LeSabre has had the cheap Trico's for about a year now and still work perfectly. The Rainer had the Bocsh blades, and although they were something like 6 years old (it's not driven a lot), they never did clean very well, and just feel apart this winter. Replaced with Neoforms (and a cheapie on the back window).

Replaced blades with Anco in September IIRC. About a month ago noticed one coming apart. Freezing rain and snow at the time. What else is new? Stopped at Wal-Mart late. Planned on a different brand but Anco winter blades were all they had. So far so good with them and no ice getting into the workings. Looking at old blade couldn't find anything wrong with it other than the "refill" coming out of it, so put it back together and plan to reuse it after weather changes. Hopefully it was just ice related. Never had that happen before.
I clean the wipers whenever I clean the windshield. Keeps the blades working better. Stands to reason things would adhere to them just like the windshield.

Do you know a lot of wipers have a graphite coating on them to help with noise? Maybe it doesn't affect non-coated types as much, but removing that coating (which may be the black streak on the sponge after) isn't going to help.

I don't think mine have that. If they are 100% silicone I don't think there would be a need for the coating. They are still very quiet, no chattering at all.

Mine get replaced every year or every other year, always use the frameless style. I never thought about the coating of graphite on them, when I first started driving I bought some new ones and they came with an alcohol wipe that they said to clean the blade with before installation, so I have just always done that.
Seems like after a year or so of use they always tend to chatter but only on the up stroke, my thought was always that when the wipers are off the blade still has pressure on it and with the blade being flipped for the down stroke and sitting like that it develops a memory and doesn't like to flip back for the up stroke. I do always wipe them during every wash as well. Maybe next set I will not wipe the coating off and on wash them as often and see if it makes a difference.

If a coating is going to have a problem with being cleaned can't say they'd have much longevity being used constantly. Especially with washer solvent. Bug splattered windshield would have to be at least as abrasive as paper towel.

I know that seems logical. But for whatever reason, that's the kind I normally get, and I get a few years out of them normally.

On my 94 the wipers have a manual park position that raises the blades off the window.
That feature does not exist on my 00.

No actually on the 00 you can lift the wipers right off the window.

Yea, and then shut down and scroll across the DIC "Some sort of error"
Doesn't the Caddy have the flaky rainsensing wipers? The ones that randomly cycle even on sunny days?
