If there was a GNX announcement due in the next 3 months, we'd have seen spy shots of some version of the car running around.
In my mind, an essentially stock GXP doesn't really garner "world's best". Harofreak has some very neat features to his white car... Someone just make him finish it soon! The blacked out features on a black car kills the design for me. It just turns it into a black shape on the road in my eyes, a car's lights show it's "face" and are one of the biggest parts of the car's image.

So let me understand this, a L67 Bonneville GXP is better than a true GXP? I'm sorry, but no. The minute that N* was ripped out the heart and soul of that car went with it as did half its value. Frankly, you can't even call it a GXP any longer. Is a Grand National with a 350 in it still a GN? Is a Mustang GT with a v6 still a GT? No. They are for lack of better words. Bastards or hybrids or mutts. An original GXP with matching numbers is worth more at an auction or trade or sale than a GXP with a v6. No offense, but lets be honest here. A GXP without a northstar is not a GXP.
I hope Haro finishes it and look forward to see the finished product. Just dont claim its a GXP. Its a SSEi in GXP clothes.
As for the "murdered out" look of my GXP. Its a taste. Some dont like it, many do and down here in the dirty south the murdered out look goes over big. I personally love it. Makes a mean looking car look meaner. JMHO

Wanna bet?
I didn't replace it with a standard L67, it been highly modified and close to 350hp.

Sure. I'll take that bet any day of the week and 4 times on Sunday. Take it to a dealer and see what they'll give ya for it. My guess is in the 4k range. Better yet watch Mecum and see how much more a matching numbers car gets over a non matching numbers.
Sorry, its fact. I've been collecting cars for years. My collection includes a 87 442, 89 Iroc, and a 78 Chevy Pick Up. When the numbers don't match the value goes down 35-50%.
Let me know what the dealer offers ya and I'll give ya my address to send my winnings to.

And did you ever consider a cpu programming? You could have got 325-350hp out of your N*! You spent a lot of time and money to get 350hp when you could have spent a day and 500 buck on cpu tuning and got the same results AND kept the resale value!

Very clean gxp and it looks great. Hard to say what is the best Bonneville gxp. I think it also depends on geography, I see gxps daily around here in sw Michigan and there are always a good number for sale. Most are of course not this clean. Keep it looking nice and hope the N* treats you well.
Darcy's GXP to the north I think currently is the nicest I have seen. Super nice mods but not going over the top.
Still can't wait to see yours done Andrew!!!

No dealer would offer a penny over $2500 for my fairly minty 04 GXP on trade-in. I wound up selling it myself for $5800. Reality is, GXP or SSEi, it's a ~10 year old car that has depreciated like a rock. We won't see any sort of value increase for several more decades - and that's if we'll see one at all. 2000+ Bonneville values have stabilized in the last few years and a motor swap may only play into the value by a couple hundred bucks at best.
Just drive it and enjoy the fact that you have a GXP that's this clean.

You should get more than that. I traded in an 03 Audi A6 in December for 3500. It was crap. Faded paint, blown motor mounts, windows not working, and engine light on.
Dealer offered me 10,500 on the GXP in December as trade on a GMC pick up. Depends on what you are buying. Higher priced car will get higher trade value.

I don't think there is any need to argue over which GXP is better because of this reason or that. They are both amazing cars, one for how clean it is and basically stock with a few add ons and the other for how clean it is with all the mods done to it.
Myself personally I love the N* even with the issues I had with mine and still drool every time I see one, they just look so perfect still. Given the choice though, I really don't think I could easily pick one of the two GXPs talked about in this thread and not walk away still wanting the other.

Matching numbers? There is not a single number on any modern GM engine that ties it to the car that it came out of. No VIN stamps, nothing. Why? Because they don't know, and don't care what it's going into.
I was talking to a contact at a dealer about trading my car in. He said he'd take it straight to auction and said it'd probably get $500-1k for it, with 200,000 miles. Even the GXP was average transportation, and they're getting and starting to have all kinds of issues. My car was $34k new, I paid $6700 for it when it was 5 years old, and now that it's 10 it's worth $4500.
You should've taken $10,500 and ran...
The GXP is a nice car, but there are so many more cars now-days that are made to be collected (you mentioned a few) that it's hard to make a 4 door Pontiac sedan with wrong-wheel-drive and an engine that's known for self destruction go up in value...

It didnt make sense to take the 10,500. I had a crap Audi to dump and Ford offered 7k in incentives on a FX2 so I still got my 10,500 and was able to keep the GXP.
Who knows. Maybe its the north and prices are lower for used cars.

Across all of North America, most Bonneville GXP's have not been worth five figures for several years now, so a trade of $10,500 seems astronomical. I was offered $2500 on the $23,000 '09 G8 GT by a GM dealer, and also the same on a $30k+ 2013 Fusion. Honda "offered" me up to $4500 on a $30k+ 2013 Accord Sport, but they weren't going to take anything less than full sticker so it was a moot point. Anything that is worth more probably has 2 miles on it, and even then, will take a long time to sell. I bought my GXP in winter 2010 for $6200.
Don't get me wrong here, I love the GXP and really enjoyed owning my '04. But it isn't a collectable car. Not for another 30+ years when they all disappear from this Earth.

Like I said depends on the buy. If you're buying a $52k truck then the 10,500 trade is a number to make the deal work.
I agree, GXP is not a collectors car. You wont see one at Barrett Jackson, but it does turn heads and draws attention at car shows because many people have not seen one before. I was able to track down Numbers and 4193 GXPs were made in 05. If you split that between all colors which Im sure wasnt an even split but go with it. That is 593 Black GXPs made in 05. Very rare. Think about it. They only made 547 GNXs. No. GXP is not and will not ever reach GNX numbers. A G8 GXP might someday though.
What I am saying is these are rare, fun, great looking cars and shouldn't be dismissed. Ive entered 3 shows in the last two months and took home awards in two of th three. They draw attention and people ask what it is and get a lot of compliments. They may never be high dollar collectables but they are rare and I compare them to the doge darts, mercury mauraders, 90's impalas, etc. not your high prices collectables, but maybe a 15k-20k entry level classic in the future.

The tune for the Northstar gives you something like 10 horses.... And then you hit the ceiling of the Northstar's power.

10hp? You do realize the GXP N* is a detuned caddy N* right. Pretty sure that engine makes 300hp. So I doubt 325 or 350hp can't be achieved. Either way much cheaper than an engine swap.
And to yourgrandma... Not sure why you feel there is an attitude? Stating facts and giving opinions. Isn't that the purpose of a forum? You had no issue putting your two cents in on the tinted headlights. So I could say the same about your attitude. Have a nice day sir!
