That's short by my standards, I have had my car and truck for 5+ and 9+ years respectively. Either way I approve of the upgrade, but the gxp is still a very nice car that I would be happy to have

I had less than half an inch of snow getting into my slightly inclined driveway on Friday night. It was a beached whale and 1 MPH stops tickled the ABS.
The original plan for the GXP was to keep it two years - I bought it in December 2010. I got it for a good enough price that I can let it go without costing me much. I didn't envision my 95 SSEi making it this far without some sort of major failure or continuous maintenance that I didn't have time to do.

This is awesome! 'Grats on the purchase Jerry!
Even knowing what that particular V badge is I'd probably ditch it too. Unless you were aiming clone a Holden with all the correct badging and body panels.
I wouldn't replace the stock badges either.

Sorry dude! It was kind of your fault, I saw your G8 the day I picked up the 95 and knew I HAD to have one

And sorry to Frank... now you know though! :D
I made a couple changes. I dropped by City GM where Peter G works, and got my hands on some steelies for winter. Perfect fit, but pardon the lug nuts. They're long, but it was all they had in stock and they're just for winter. Tire-wise, I bought via Kijiji a set of brand new, never mounted Bridgestone WS70 (235/55/17) for $480 cash, which is half the price of new+tax locally. I also got rid of the dealer license plate frame and added my clear license plate cover. WeatherTech mats are also in. Huge kudos to Peter for his help on this!

I know that car... Most times I saw it, the back end was off to one side.
Glad it stayed with a car enthusiast, and not some 85yr old lady that likes the tires.

If we didn't go way back Jerry, I'd think............
Anyway, that 05 GXP ended up selling this week so you may see it on the road in your area. I haven't seen yours for sale, what's up? As for my Bonneville, I haven't been feeling the love lately as it's in need of some work so I haven't decided whether to abandon it and maybe scrap it. Maybe I'm going through a mid life crisis............. or something.
Again congrats Jerry and hope to see the G8 in person one day.

Agreed, although I was also talking about getting together with the Vette gang. See link.

I bought my WS-50 for $350 with 100 miles on 'em, they've been awesome so far.
I think those steelies look pretty BA! Any wide shots? And your sig makes me want a G8 and a DSLR...

Jerry, you're making me sad. I want to get mine out to drive it, but the weather around here's been too crappy, and I don't have the stomach to drive on anything but dry roads.

Hot G8. Really like the wheels.
Try and keep it out of the snow banks.
Hose it off with hot water every day to keep the salt away.
I'll keep an eye out for it next time I'm in TO....be hard to miss.

The nice thing about it having 57k miles is that I'm not particularly afraid to drive it year around, anywhere. It's not exactly low mileage any more, so there's no guilt
Regular underbody washes and annual oil spray rustproofing are going to be the norm

Do you feel the same way about the much higher mileage GXP?
