The link no longer has the car in it. Got pics? What are the miles?

I have to agree with Jerry here...

I am. I'll try to get pics once I get it cleaned up a little bit. I am borrowing money against it. Sounds crazy, but if I ever want to not be welded into that Grand Prix, I have to. Making the payment is getting a little rough. The loan on this car will be next to nothing, and it will be payed off in no time. I just don't have the cash right now.

How does the Jeep factor into things then? The two together would be around what the Grand Prix is worth, right? Unless you got screaming deals on both...Sorry, just curious.

The Bonnie looks really nice for the miles - it's obviously been well cared for. Even the seatback map pockets aren't even stretched out. One exhaust tip looks to be MIA though. Both the '96-99 SSE/SSEi and the WJ Grand Cherokees are some of my favorite DD vehicles of the late 90's/early 2000's.

On the Jeep, I'm a big fan of the WJ Grand Cherokees, have been active in the WJ scene, and owned one for a couple years. Had a '99 with the 4.0 and drove it till 210k with no issues whatsoever. Didn't leak anything, ran perfect, and got 23MPG+ all day long at 60-65mph, which was unbelievable. Probably the best vehicle I ever owned. My dad also has had a 4.0L for the last 10 years and it's a bulletproof drivetrain. My in-laws have a nearly identical '03 Limited to yours, 4.7L HO, silver with the chrome 5-spokes, and mint condition. I will say from experience, there are some good 4.7's out there, but they're also fairly easy to get burned on, particularly if it's an auction car. If it's a 4.7L HO, it has an improved chance of not having issues, but thoroughly check it out for head gaskets or overheating before biting the bullet. The cooling fan system is also hydraulic and very complex on '02+ V8's and was problematic and pricey ($1k), contributing to overheating and A/C issues. When the 4.7's work right, they're awesome - lots of power, great powerband, smooth/great sounding, and get decent MPG. Also ensure that the dual zone climate works good - the blend doors are notorious for failing on Limiteds, and cost over $1k to fix at the shop. You'll be able to tell if the temperatures side to side go goofy, don't blow to the proper position, etc. I believe there's a video on youtube that shows how to press the climate buttons to do a self-diagnostic. All that said, congrats, and I love that Grand Cherokee. It looks beautiful. Just make sure you don't get burned on it before committing to it.

That car is hella clean! I'm so jealous of the condition of your interior. Mine is completely pulled apart, have to redo everything. And the fact that it's a 40th is just crazy.

Ben, I was getting a fantastic deal on both of them lol. But it looks like I'll probably just be getting the Bonneville, which is fine by me lol.

One exhaust tip is MIA, and the other was dangling on by a thread so I took it off so it wouldn't fall off, and it's kinda mangled, so I"m looking for a new set. The interior is so clean, only minor wear on the driver's seat. Even the little flip out cup holder from the center console and the rear a/c vents in the center console are 100% intact...

Nice find on the SSE! I really think the Jeep would be a good buy. Say if you got it for around $6k and had a problem or two you still get a good buy. The 4.7's that I've been around have all been pretty good. One had some electrical gremlins but the engine itself was solid.

I was gonna be around $5K on it, but I'm gonna hold off on getting a truck for a while, I think.

Hmmm....I would be tempted too for that price. As long as everything is in order, that would be a sweet ride. But, if the goal is to get right side up on making the car payment disappear, that's more important obviously. That is a really nice looking Jeep....that Ford dealer always brings nice stuff to the auctions I've been at. But...there's always 'more fish in the pond' when the timing is right. That Bonneville is sure a sharp car - I'd love to have one like that.

Yeah, this one was actually on their lot, just a stale unit I think, so they've already serviced it and detailed it, we already have another buyer for it lol.

Met up with Chris tonight, the car is really nice. A good detail and a bit of maintenance should have it in great shape.

Scanned it, came up with P0340 (IIRC) Camshaft Sensor Malfunction as to why his CEL was on. Any bets as to whether there's a magnet on the timing set yet?
