If you find the problem returns make sure there is no leak in the air system . I have had this and the passenger shock was always low on air...the level of the vehicle looked normal. The only way I isolated it was to disconnect the air line from the shock, clamped a piece of short rubber tubing to the shock fitting and then clamped in a tire air valve so I could fill it manually. I had to hack off the bulb end of a tire valve and use soap to slide the air valve through the rubber tubing (rubber on rubber). Only fill shock very briefly(about 1/2 second if using ar compressor) with about 10-12lbs or less, use tire guage... these are not like the old style air shock reserves that need 25 lbs+. (This procedure is for trouleshooting purposes to isolate air volume to the shock as the root cause... not a permanent fix. )

I'm amazed that something like this problem has been so elusive to so many Bonneville owners. It would seem that there should be only one or two definite solutions to this, but, as we have seen, not so much the case....
Mine clunks, and I've put up with it for about 3 years. Time to fix it......

Ya I just replaced my rear air shocks 2 months ago and I get the random clunk back there too.

When I replaced mine, I used the Monroe mounts. They were quite noisy. I switched to the Moog mounts, which were noisy at first, but settled down after a couple of weeks.

Good to know.. I ordered a set of Moog mounts and Monroe shocks yesterday, so we'll see if new stuff quiets the rear down. I'll also look at those suspension mounts (suspension to body) to see if they are loose/rusted...
