In the future, I might suggest staying away from adjectives that are also derogatory terms regarding someone's sexuality-- you never know what the sexual orientation of a poster might be...

Thank you all for your opinions. I'm actually really sad this can't be done safely, because I feel like I've had the first cool idea in my life. I'm finding that the Bonneville is really a "take it or leave it" kind of car. That's kind of a bummer, but it keeps my bank account healthy. :dontknow:

Some things on these cars can be changed slightly, others can't. Take it or leave it is right. Thanks to the OP for handling this thread in a mature manner. :)

bon-evil, I'm not mad or upset at anyone in this thread. The OP had an idea, we showed him why it wasn't a good idea to attempt it.

A co worker had a GTO but I never really paid close attention to the seats.....I'm now curious as to how the thread starter's car keeps his bank account healthy....

Off topic, but I've had it for 6 months now with no expenses other than winter rubber (knock on wood). Sure, I think there's a slow oil leak onto the exhaust manifolds, but that's no big.

Most importantly, it keeps me from dropping my money on mods like I would if I had an LS series engine or if I had an interior that wasn't engineered for people who like the idea of conducting a symphony from a gray leather- and suede-clad couch.

THe only way to properly add a belt to a vehicle is with a bar and a 4/5 pt harness. You're not doing that so be happy with your current seats....

GTO styling is very similar to the Bonneville GXP.

Big reason the seatbelts are in the seat are due to the side airbags that are also in the seats... So that is ALOT of safety gone with that change :beerchug:
