I pained over where to place my tips when I upgraded to dual outlet exhaust on my SE. I ultimately had the tips placed directly under those red reflectors on the bumper cover, which corresponds to the "Wider" placement in the photoshops in this thread. That is where they are spaced on the Bonneville models that have the factory dual outlets, but with the bumper cutouts, of course. I'm very glad I went with that placement. My full thread with pics is here:

yeah, i really like your setup. i almost wish i went with the "wider" configuration. i'm going to roll with these for a bit and see how i like where they are now. unlike yours, mine stick out JUST a hair when looking straight down. it's actually amazing how "in line" with the bumper these things are. they match almost perfectly!

Yeah, I like the looks of those tips too, how they're angled, so they follow the bumper line. I never saw those until after I got my tips. I still love my tips, but I think I might have gone with the tips you got if I'd known about them when I got mine. I think both go very well on Bonnevilles. Can't wait to see your PICS.

ok, so, apparently my camera has a USB drive, so i can put pics up!!! anyway, here are all the pics from the exhaust job from yesterday. i love the way they sound, and they look AMAZING!!!
Here are some pics of just the tips. they looked so nice i had to snap a few
i only got 2 pics of the work in progress, but i think we'll all agree that it's the finished product that matters most
there was smoke comin out of them right after he welded, so i HAD to snap a pic. it looks sweet i think. if you look close you can see smoke coming out of all 4 tips seperately...
now, i'm going to show you a few before and after pics, just so you can see the difference:
Where are the tips???
There they are!!!
one thing he did REALLY well, IMO, is how he matched the slope of the bumper with the slope of the tips.
here is a straight down shot. notice how you can't see the tips from this angle....
but when you start to back away, they come peeking out!! this is the angle you have to get at to JUST see the ends of them...
and here is the "casual" shot of the

of my car!!
there you go!!!
you can see more pics of the car in general in the "Your Ride" thread.

Those hang pretty low? Won't they scrape going up a steep drive, or bump?

well, with no cut-outs like an SSEi, i would HOPE not, but i really didn't have much of a choice. we had to leave a little room, cuz the exhaust moves with the engine... IDK, its less than an inch off the bumper, and thats what my exhaust guy suggested. i guess we'll see!!

Slinging the tips under the rear bumper is really the only option for us SE folks without the rear bumper cutouts that the SC'd Bonnevilles get. On extremely rare occasions, in very specific parking lots with a steep curb dip exit to a road, my tips have scraped the tiniest bit. The key is to go REALLY SLOW down such exits, at an angle if you can. A rare tiny scrape is the price we have to pay to join the dual exhaust outlet club, that's just the way it is.
After having my dual outlet Magnaflow and tips for a few years now, I think stock Bonneville SEs look naked without a pair of tips peeking out from underneath the back bumper.
Your tips look really good, and it looks like your installer did a really good job. Did you get a performance Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler, or did you get a stock or F-body (Camaro) muffler?
