go buy a cheap heat gun (harbor Freight $10 bux... open the trunk and warm up the areas where the studs are but take your time... there is thick 2 sided tape on top of trunk lid and you may be able to re- use it

ended up leaving the spoiler on, just made sure I was careful. Lots of work just to do the deck lid and the quarters next to it but what a shine there is now. I think I could easily spend a whole day buffing scuffs and scratches out which I will. The car has set out side it's entire life and who knows if it's been waxed? It is now!!

I will get a couple of pics up this weekend, did the hood yesterday and ran out of compound. I purchased a gallon jug this time and ended up being about 60% of the price if I had gone with quarts. It sure isnt cheap to do this, but it looks nice so far. Only 4 doors, 2 fenders and 2 quarter panels to go and if I'm brave enough I will tackle the bumpers and body moldings

I took some pics tonight of the deck lid and hood but its not real easy to see the difference in the garage light:

this id the roof that has not been touched yet, kind of dull.

this is the hood that has been buffed, notice the top of the fender to the right that is dull compared to the hood.

and the trunk lid: bad angle,
