What are the switchback lights on your car? I'm not very familiar with switchbacks... And is your led lightbar a solid thing on the inside or a flexible light bar? How's it wired up

The switchbacks are as simple as this..when your parking lamps are on, they are the regular blue color...as seen here:

Once you put your turn signal on, the color switches and blinks Amber..as seen here:

The LED strips are flexible strip that have adhesive on the back. They simply just stick to the housing once the head light is separated. I ran my own wiring to them with a switch so I can control when they are on or off.

Where did you get the led strip? And can you put the switchbacks in how it is or does it need an hid conversion kit?

My car has had a complete LED conversion..all my interior and exterior lighting has been changed from regular bulbs to LED's. All the bulbs were purchased from www.v-leds.com. They stuff isn't cheap, but I have never been disappointed in anything I have purchased. They also have great customer service and have replaced any defective product I have encountered with no questions asked.

The Switchbacks were simply plug and play. They didn't require any changes to anything. They are a little long for the housing and take some patience installing, but nothing terrible!

Do you remember a link or where you got your switchback bulbs? And also is this the one you got for the led strip? http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED-Bulb ... 00654.html

Yes, that is the LED strip I used for the mod.

Here is the link for the switchbacks. I see they are still on back order...I waited a couple months to finally get mine...must be a popular item..

sorry for all the questions but did you just use 1 of those led strips per light or multiple? and do you have load resistors on the switchbacks?

I used one 24'' LED strip per head light. Those LED's are designed to be broken off if needed between the lights, but they become real undependable once broken, so I just laid the complete strip in the light.

I do have load resisters on my car, only because I'm running LED turn signals in the rear as well. I installed my switchbacks first, and didn't need the load resistors.

So do you need to run load resistors to have these things up front in the turn signals? Or are the load resistors necessary only for the back? :dontknow:

We stuck a switchback in my car when he was here, IIRC, you don't need load resistors on the front.

This is correct. If only replacing the fronts to LED bulbs...switchbacks or not...you don't need load resistors. Now, if your replaced the front and rear turn signals to LED, then the overall line resistance drops since the LED's require less power, requiring load resistors.
